I heard this song only once while skateboarding home in Boulder,CO in 1983 while wearing a Walkman. I was 20 years old. A magic moment. I never knew who the artist was or heard it again until this day. I’m now 60 years old.

That’s amazing. I hope you give the whole album a listen, it’s brilliant and futuristic still

Haven't heard this since I found it channel surfing back in 1980-whatever. What a miracle the internet is, eh? For me, the most interesting lyric is "If you have some headphones, too...plug them in to channel two." 1:14 The original Walkman had TWO headphone jacks. So, your friend could plug in to your Walkman and listen along with you. In stereo. None of this single earbud strung across from your friend's iPod or phone. My first Walkman was an original. It was stolen and when I replaced it with a new one, the second jack was gone, never to be seen again. And thus the splitter device was born.

@Sean Matthews... lol. I still have my little yellow Sony double headphone jack walkman AND it still works perfectly! What really makes me laugh, though, is that when I bought it ALL those years ago, it was a refurbished one! I thought for sure it was going to break within that first year, but it never did. : )

Ha, my dad had this on vinyl & I used to "borrow" it all the time (back in probably '83 or so). Never thought I'd 'see' it in this format all those years ago. Thanks for posting.
