SSQ (Q/Stacey Q) - Playback (Long Version)

This is the long version of Playback that appeared on "Stacey Q's Greatest Hits", which was a compilation of previously recorded material, largely drawn from her albums "Better Than Heaven" and "Playback".
This album was re-released in 2008 by the title of "Queen Of The 80s". Different artwork, but same tracklisting.
Oddly enough the song Playback never appeared on the Playback album that bore the same name.
Prior to Playback appearing on Stacey Q's Greatest Hits, the song had appeared on a compilation album of various artists called "The Enigma Variations" (1985) in a slightly shorter version, and on "The Q EP" (1982) as a much shorter and significantly different version.

Disturbing, fascinating and you can't look away. Videographers haven't caught up to Stacey Q yet. Got everything she's done too. Just great in every way SSQ Stacey Q!!!

this song also was on Jon St. James' debut album "Trans-Atlantic", which featured the song "The Girl Who Seduced The World", featured on reissues of SSQ's debut album. Jon St. James was a member of SSQ and a producer for numerous 80's bands.

Originally the band was just called Q. There was an EP released under that name

Liquid Sky is definitely a piece of Art, But it was just too Droll to be truly enjoyable. I watched it twice, and though I "got it", I was also quite underwhelmed. Thank god for Stacey Q.❤ She makes everything palatable.

I don't know if you found out, but I would hazard a guess that this version was recorded in 1983 or 1984. Video appears to be clips from a film that someone put together.
what are people’s thoughts on the lyrics of this song? what do you think the story is? seems very gothic to me but I would like to hear other interpretations.

I think its about a younger sibling becoming a voyeur of sorts, watching their older sibling have a sexual encounter with someone that younger one wanted also. In other words, the younger sister wanted him to do to her what he did to her older sister. Sexually... I think... Who knows...
Wasn't this at the end of side 2 of the Enigma Variations cassette?

Great clothing & make-up. Some parts of this video just don't make sense though.
