Properly ruined! Love the direction you went with this.
Besides how sweet this build is, I really love and appreciate your creativity and humor on this truck...it adds SO much to it. Nice work Matt
Love your enthusiasm and obvious pride in this vehicle, you clearly had a good time with this and it was fun to watch! I really appreciate the work you put into this - you took a scale model approach with an RC body and it turned out great! 👍

Thanks a ton!
Ive owned several of these trucks in various conditions over the years and I gotta say you nailed it, awesome job with the weathering. I especially like that you have some of the chrome trim pieces bent outward from the body, ( my real ones were like that as well ) very realistic and the rust looks spot on. Now if I only had one tenth of the skills that you and Richard have I would be happy.
Love it so far especially the rear and tailgate..looking forward to seeing the finished rig.
really great effects... the hints of rust, the glue residue under the chrome trim... wonderful, wonderful subtle details. Very cool!!
Awesome, this truck brings back a lot of memories. You freaking nail it. Would love to be able to do this . Thanks again for sharing your videos. I did my first truck 78 Chevy stepside . I made it look like a new truck. Someday I will try to do a weather truck.
When you showed the duct taped tail like it made me think you should put a turn signal / brake light that just flashes all the time
Great job!! Not surprised at all how well this build looks!
I have been working on my sad trail king and love the way yours has turned out
You should drill some tiny holes where the trim pieces are missing, and maybe rust around the holes!
This is spectacular! I hope to have a truck close to this level of detail one day. I learn so much from your videos. Thanks.
One nice detail would be to partially fill one of the blinker lenses with fluid or something that looks like fluid. You can buy blinker fluid at auto parts stores if you need to change the fluid in your 1 scale car.
Man you really inspire me to strive for this level of model building..Looks amazing!!! Please keep posting more videos like this.
Dude you're an artist and the RC is your canvas. Great work! I just did K5 Blazer on my Trail King converted WB to 11.4 looks pretty sweet. Kept the suspension more modern with Cantilever.I went the route if I had money and wanted to restore an old square truck to be my off road rig..
Looks Awesome all the little details make a big difference another very nice build
The trucks look awesome... Great job... At the moment I am trying to improve my weathering technique on scale accessories... It's not so expensive when it doesn't work... Stay well and safe
Great job on the details!! 👍
Nicely done!!
Phenomenal so far matt, and the weaing down of the tires is beyond spot on seeing these in fields all the time with no tread!!
So real it hurts. Fantastic job. I bet it even has a life threatening wobble at 80kph.
The truck looks AWESOME Matt~!
Looks awesome, I have had many of these trucks and you have really nailed so much of the loo and detail. I thing though, k10 six lugs, k20 or k30 eight lugs
As a chevy square body truck owner, damn you nailed it, that thing looks like my old beater farm truck. The cab rear corners also rot out fyi, almost no truck is rust free there unless someone babied it.
Yes I am watching all your old videos for some reason.
Nice work Carlos Menendez! Looks good !
Super detailed video... Scratches, and trim are my favorite.. a small crack in the windshield would be sweet ..
Love it man! I'm pretty sure I've seen that truck driving around town a few times.
Looks great!
*YOU NAILED IT!!!* 👍👍🍻🍺👌 The Rust is incredible, the mismatched panels, replaced Bed... The broken trim with glue residue was over the top!! You didn't RUIN it! 😲 All of the Wheel Arches are intact... (Of course maybe he doesn't live in the Salt Belt). 😉 Fantastic work Matt!!! 👌👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 I just asked a question in your last year's Video, that I would sincerely appreciate if you can take a look. Please stay SAFE! 😷 Carmine ✈🚂🚙
looks Great you made it really look like the real thing.
That is amazing I really want to try to do something like this.
You're too modest you're awesome at this stuff man that looks so real the rust holes n stuff great work homie for real you gotta give yourself more credit dude
Best weathering I’ve seen man hands down 🙌🏽
Stunning example. Very Sweet Work.

Absolutely incredible build Matt 👍🏻 🤯💯
Matt this truck looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING I love it keep on keeping on!!!!!
She turned out real nice matt 👍👍
that's a awesome scale build
Wow! you are talented!!!
Looks great. It was funny how shiny the engine bay was.
Dude that is some ridiculous talent! Square body love! Noice!
I like it. Good job👍
Well done Matt.
Nicely done so far. Looking forward to seeing the end product. MOD19 bumpers are an excellent representation of the steel square body bumpers. The rc4wd units look awkward with the chrome rubber molding section.
Maybe some faded white letters on the tires? Or on some of them. Looks awesome so far, well done!
Awesome job on the painting. I have a difficult time painting two different colors on lexan.
Very cool truck!
Nice job weathering it Matt. You should’ve put a different tire on one of the rims to look like a makeshift replacement along the way. Great work!
Nice job on that body!
You sir, have some skills. Looks great.
This truck looks almost exactly like my first truck when I was in high school! The memories haha!
That looks just like all the river buggies I see around Texas Panhandle for sure. Great job
Never thought about having a weathered truck look but that is pretty cool
Love t. I absolutely love this truck and your weathering skills are up there with the best of em, I say. Great work man. Thumbs up and hell yeah I will be around for the next update... ;)

Wow, thanks!
Pro tip, you can safely strip chrome off of plastic with a degreaser cleaner called "purple power" or "super clean". You can also use it to remove paint without harming the plastic and you can do it indoors. Just soak it for 30 minutes to a few hours (depends on the proceas they used to chrome it or the paint that was used) I used to do this all the time with my scale models that had everything chromed that shouldn't have been or to repaint when I changed my mind on color (read that as when I screwed up a paint job 😉) love your truck and your channel man!
You have so much patience, such an awesome looking rig.

Thank you so much 🤗
Dang, that looks awesome.
Outstanding ! I think some old school aluminum slots or deep dish wagon wheels would be more period correct
I’m definitely going to have to check out Vallejo’s weathering tutorials because I have a couple trucks in mind for some weathering. I have a “tribute” in mind for my Ranger, and it would need a lot of weathering since the truck was rusty beyond belief thanks to the salty Michigan roads.

Please do!
Love it!
Man looks soo good i would be chuffed with that
EPIC EPIC work. The only thing I would look into would be a different rear bumper it looks like a front bumper put on the rear. Maybe even make a home made one out of pipe.
You should chop the front tire tread to really send the old beat up mud truck look. Just look up chopped mud tires
In regard to the tires, even the new look may have been accurate; as an 'old truck' owner I've put $800 worth of new mud tires on a $400 truck. It's all good. The truck and tires look fantastic, great job.

Hahah, that's awesome!! Love the detail you put into your k10....my real K20 is pretty ruff, but not as ruff as this beast!!🤣
You cvan make cool rust effects with vallejo rust pigment and glue or paint. Matte clearcoat also works
absolutely gorgeous truck
Fantastic job!

@@scalebuildersguild did you clear this? If so what kind of clear. I'm looking to be painting a hard body soon for the first time
Dude absolutely love this build I'm doing something similar with one of my Element Enduro Trail walkers. I may end up doing two like this. A Chevy n a Ford but instead of the Chevy truck it'll be a Chevy Blazer the Ford is a 1977 Ford F250 high boy I put Interco Super Swamper boggers on the blazer and the f250 has interco Super swamper TSL radials
Very Cool!
Looks epic!! I had just did that bondo trick on my truck and now people will think I copied you dammit lol!
Great looking truck.

Awesome truck ! Good ol junkyard dog ! 😍
Over The Top!! Ilove it:)
This thing looks amazing. Ive been in the rc hobby for years now. Im finding the older I get I want to start building more realistic rigs. Building my first hardbody now. Building a hilux pinched front and rear fenders trimmed very little for clearance. Trying to decide on wether to use a trail kings chassis or my Vs410 ultra chassis.

Sounds like a fun build. I would go with the VS4-10 for sure. Thanks for watching and good luck with the build!
Looks really cool! How well do those short coil overs work? Would like to do something like that on my Honcho, either with a new body and a drop bed or an Aussie style overland tray.
Love a good used beat up rig
Put extra wear on the right rear tire, thats the one that spins on the infamous "one wheel wonder"... awesome truck man. 👍

that truck is sooo badass
Look no further than Dave’s C10 from Dirt Every Day pretty much stock truck. They took to the Rubicon. Epic
The bed and body mismatch is a nice touch but I have to say more often than not the tail gate does not match the bed. But I think your truck looks great, the deep gouge above the rear Fender looks extremely realistic
Watching. Looking great, I mean that in a bad way.
Oh Matt, that is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen ...

Love it! Incredible job Matt. Reminds me of an old (1:1) Sq Body short box I usta have. Mine was much more of a pos then yours tho. Coilovers? Did Josh finally drag you outta the dark ages? Kick'n n Scream'n all the way no doubt.

Guess you shld at least leave em on there till the paint dries.
brother you got some mad skills man!!! that thing is a masterpiece!! what else is there to say...damn son
Awesome job Matt ...... I’m betting your truck will be worth MORE than the 1:1 version when your done with it.
I know it's been 3 years but.... the intake and valve covers would be aluminum and wouldn't rust, but oil leaks and grime would be very appropriate. Otherwise I think you nailed the look of the typical farm truck.
Any sealing coat(s) after the Vallejo, Bondo, etc... is all complete, and ready for the trail? Also, VERY well done!
put some wagon wheels on it, that will make it pop. Rusty somewhat
I can’t wait to get my weathering paints! As I plan on rusting each new scratch as I run the trails, how often do yo take this one on the trails
