I've built a couple of rigs using pre-built bodys, 1is a 1/6 Newbright Hummer and 1 is a 1/10 Jeep from some Chinese no-name toy. One of them has an interior base that bolts to the frame and the body is attached to the base with screws. Almost exactly what you are doing here! The toy Jeep body on the other hand isn't as convenient. I screwed 2 rare earth magnets to the bottom ( lined up with the frame), and in front I glued styrene on the mounting posts with some Velcro. Great video series 👍!

Dude, thank you! I really appreciate the tutorial and will be using this. There are a number of body design issues that I've been avoiding, and this was one of them, because the wheel wells, suspension drive shafts, its somewhat of a mess trying to get it all right. Very simple method you have there. I imagine that this "complete connection" also helps with overall rigidity, better isolating movement to the suspension. So when I do this to my Scx10ii this coming month, it should help get rid of that terrible flex this thing has. I think I'm gonna reinforce the body down low to help in that. Thanks again!

Great stuff! Yeah! I hope this was helpful and you can get your build up to the level you want! My favorite part about this interior tray is the support it gives the body, and it's super LIGHT!

I like to use simple CA and kicker for joints and it's fast. Then usually I'll go over any seams with a swipe of shooGoo or similar just to make it strong.
