*UPDATE* - NVMe SSD Review next week, this video is all about SATA Drives... *NOTE* - Prices change VERY often for these drives, there is a sale on one or more of them almost every week, so check them all to see where the deal is each week... *35 Drives* - The 35 drives tested ranged from the 10 you see here to other models such as the SanDisk SSD Plus, Corsair Force LE, Crucial BX200, SanDisk X400s, Transcend 370s, Silicon Power S55, and older drives such as the Intel 300 series. I didn't include every benchmark to try and keep down the clutter and frankly the ones not included aren't worth considering, so I focused on the 10 good drives!

whats your opinion on the Samsung 850 pro compared to the evo? theres a 10 year warrenty on the pro and theoretically longer lifespan possible faster speed?(havent seen a 1by1 comparison so i dont know for sure)

Don't bother with the 850 Pro, if you need that drive, you might as well be on the 960 Pro...

just a gamer but ive seen the pro dip down to 3 dollars diffrence from the 850 evo which is why i was asking since the benifits are worth 3 bucks (of course i mean sales not the normal price which is around 20 bucks higher)

My personal opinion is that workstation and server hardware is massively dominated by large scale transactions. We're talking about companies buying fleets of tens, hundreds or even thousands of computers. This area belongs to machines like Dell or Lenovo and performance per unit is less important compared to stability, uniformity across the fleet and ease of maintenance. They need to be "good enough" and cost as low as possible. Will there be customized units in this sector? Yes, but they are usually made picking from the upgrade options list the manufacturer offers. Again, because they tested all those components together and can guarantee you won't have any unpleasant surprises.

Using the HTML5 interface you an speed him up to 1.25, 1.5 or 2x speed. I never watch any youtube at less than 1.5 these days. As for our host, he speaks slow so he can be understood; that's a lot of jargon to deliver and folks that are not well versed in most of it will get lost quickly.

I just bought one Samsung 850 evo 1tb last week and just yesterday copied two raided 0 PNY 480 (960 gb) ssd drives using Samsung software in 17 minutes. Everything as you said was perfect, no problems, boot times in seconds. This is an amazing drive, 5 year warranty and excellent warranty. I considered the 2tb, but at over $500 dollars I can wait. I now have two extra 480gb ssd drives or a backup if my Samsung fails, because I left the two PNY's in the machine. Not two many problems with the PNYs but I wanted a more reliable drive with a better warranty. I have had these drives for between 2-3 years. Twice I didn't get machine to boot, but issues were quickly solved and no problems since, but this did put me on the hunt for a 1tb drive. Very good review and your explanations are clear and concise, which is why I just joined your channel, keep up the good work.

Hi. Over 12 months later and still useful as i need to replace my old 2010 HP laptop from the old mechanical drive with a new drive and i might as well go with a new SSD drive. Your tutorials are very good / excellent with clear information that is not all technical jargon Your presentation is excellent, If i can add 2 things which may just apply to this specific video - please do not take it as negative criticism (A) The graph initially surprised me, i then realized that the last item was clearly identified as a 7200RPM and in playing it back you did mention i t was there to compare SSD to HDD, this is great, but i would have used a different colour, the result bars are close to zero so no real way of doing that, but the product identification ie WD 1T 7200rpm may have been edited to another colour eg yellow or something to make it stand out as different or a older standard / benchmark. No big deal, i do this at work for excel to show comparison to lat year or 3 year average as i cant always have the odd one out of the bottom and if it is mixed in the other data due to fluctuating results it make it easy to spot (B) For most laptops there is only one physical space for a drive, commonly 2.5, some new ones may have both a 2.5 bay and a M.2 slot - so typically and on le equipment that is being replaced / upgraded you should can only get a good single SSD as you mentioned - and i agree on the capacity issue But for a desktop that has the space that can run 2 physical devices eg 2.5 or 3.5 can run for example a SSD for the boot device, then simply and cheaply buy a tradition HDD - mechanical hard disk drive , for people with games or media files, the price per Gig of a mechanical drive can easliy give you 3 to 5 times the storage space eg the price of say a 240G SSD is the same as a 1T HDD - I call it give and take or best of both worlds Again, excellent info as always Regards George

I have several of the Crucial SSDs, 2 in the 500 GB range and a 1 TB drive. I bought the Crucial drives because of the supplied cloning software and instructional resources on the website. One of the 500 GB drives has been in service for over 4 years. The 1 TB has been in service on my main desktop for about 4 Years. I have never had a problem. Recently cloned a 500 GB drive on a Win 10 laptop. the process was quick and easy with the Crucial instructions. I can definitely recommend Crucial, however Western Digital has purchased SanDisk and I am sure the WD SSDs will perform well. Samsung has been a leading brand for years. It is hard to go wrong with a SSD and prices keep dropping.

    1) Get more RAM, turn off pagefile. 2) after installing windows turn off hybernation in command prompt (unless you really use it pretty often). I have my old 120Gb SSD as a system drive and it's still works wonders. After installing windows (7 or 10) i have over 80Gb space taken. Turning those 2 options off and removing pagefle.sys and hyberfil.sys frees over 50Gb of disk space (because i have 64Gb RAM, windows tries to make those files as big as possible).
