Excellent review, got the fermzilla at the moment, works well and at a fraction of the price , was thinking of upgrading to this, but your honest review has given me all the info I need to stick with what I have.

Thank you for the frank and honest review, I'm currently looking purchasing the 7 gal Unitank or Spike CF5. Your verbal presentation brought up some real world experiences that often get overlooked when a review is mainly video of the equipment being operated. Time well spent, thanks again, it helped me a lot.

@@stuarthaigh2730 don't know if anything has changed since I looked into it about 6-9months ago. Spike said that they weren't interested in shipping stuff to Australia. Might be different as I said, but at the time it sounded like you'd need to import it yourself which is sad. there little pressure capable brew buckets look awesome.

What you've said Exactly 💯 what the issues are with this unitank. I own I can say that wish I would have gone with Spikes but I got this brand new in ebay for 600 + shipping which was 102.00 that's the only way I would have gotten this tank withe the CF5 and the the flex +

I have been using the SS Brewtech uniting 1 BBL unit for over a year now and while I agree there are a few extras that are required to make this unit complete the quality of the build and professional functionality of the unit far outweigh the cost of the extras. I wouldn't look at using anything else except maybe an upgrade to the 2bbl jacketed version. Great bit of kit.

Great video. Just ordered a half bbl version. I think the product has been well designed, with features that may or not be used by the home brewer. At least it gives you the flexibility and options to do what you wish. Just can’t get equipment at the moment without paying over the odds.

Buying expensive small batch system is my most regretful live choises that i made .after few brews i realise 3 kegs brew system is the best .

Great review mate...but how was the saison? Did it turn out any good or better than previous brews in a carboy?

Not impatient at all. I was on the fence as to whether to put the second video out but you and others made me realise that people wanted to know.

Nice review man. I like to drool over these things everytime I see them come up on facebook or instagram. If I'm honest I really wish i hadn't bought the chronicle and waited for this baby to come out instead...hindsight and all that. Interesting with the sampling port not having a good way of not serving you a foamy mess. You'd think that would have been thought through as it's one of the main features of the SS brewline being able to sample along the way. Anyway killer piece of brewing equipment, shame you couldn't keep it longer! Cheers

Cheers. I did an addendum video correcting that it actually DOES have an add on accessory which allows for sampling under pressure, but it's an added cost (as I'm sure the Braumeister solution is). I'm keen to try the new kegmentors from keg-king but they won't fit in my ferm chamber.

Great review mate! I think you have covered it well, shame you couldn't have had it a little longer, would have loved to seen a carbonation via the carbonation stone. Would think that some of the larger ones like the 14 gal would have a bit more space and comfort in running those butterfly valves. Also correct me if I am wrong, but SS and Newera have the coil for the sample port to counteract the pressure and resistance issues? Cheers, Reidy

Solid review Stass. I'd probably be looking for something a bit bigger for the cost of the 7 gallon. Wouldn't it be great to have unlimited cash to buy all the flash gear like this? I'm satisfied with the gear I have and still make beer. Cheers

Yeh, the 14 gal for a couple of hundred more seems better value but still a lot of coin

Looks a brilliant bit of kit but out of my price range, I'd have to sell the kids and wife. Cheers thanks for sharing.

Yeh, totally agree. If I were spending this kind of money on a fermenter the 14 gal is only a few hundred more. It's also 2.5x more expensive than the basic 7 gal conical. Doesn't make much financial sense for the extra capabilities of pressure fermentation and carbing in the fermenter.

Did you use the carbonation feature? The stone looks a bit small and I was wondering how it worked for you.

I didn't mate. I was pushed for time. I imagine that it would be ok. Seems similar size to keg carb stones and it's a similar volume.

Is the bottom dump port 1.5" or 2"?

Sorry for the sarcasm, but it seemed like it would be a hands on review showing the fermenter up close on video. Instead it's just you speaking to photos pulled from SS website. I'm struggling to find a video of the 7G unitank. Plenty of the 1/2 and full BBL videos tho

Like I said, which parts are you interested in looking at? I have some footage not used in the video. I wanted to do a video review with the fermenter with me, but time restrictions and buying a new house and moving during the period I had access to the fermenter made that not difficult. You're obviously looking at buying one? As I said, happy to give my opinions to you on any questions you might have.
