Squirrel Needs Her Teeth Trimmed Every Two Weeks

Ойын-сауық

Squirrel teeth and human teeth are not the same. Squirrels nerves are at their gum line. This is natural tooth that a healthy squirrel would normally grind down themselves, but Cheeks has a malocclusion and can not.

Yesss thats what some of these commenters dont understand. I raised a rescue squirell who had the same problem. After awhile if i didnt trim her growing teeth the bottom would start piercing the roof of her mouth and cause infection giving her discharge from nose. I seeked the advice from a vet who basically told me she was doomed but another wildlife rescue advocate online gave me the info on maintaining her teeth in check. God bless you for caring for her

If you use a file, as a nail tech, maybe you can make it more comfortable if you can hold the tooth as your filing so they dont wiggle and make the teeth ache or uncomfortable while the filing is being done and to add precision as well. The same thing is done when filing so the nail doesnt move so much and cause aching afterwards.

Then we also did surgery to renove them so that she didnt have to go through the anxiety of going to the vet all the time. We just had to grind her food up do that it was like sugar so she could eat by licking her food. She did great with that.

Hold the spring next to your ear and pluck it and you hear nothing. Can you Imagine the amount of vibration caused by cutting/breaking the squirrel's teeth? The file must make a lot of noise on the ear drums too. This is crazy.
