    I didnt squat everyday but there was a period of time where I just went to the gym everyday for about 2 months as I didnt have much going on. As the lads said, hyuge decrease in speed, felt very tired and ended up with mildly bad elbow tendinitis and slight knee tendinitis 0/10 would not recommend. Train smart

    My biggest issue with the video is they are packaging squatting every day with bulgarian style training throughout most of the video. You dont have to train hard and heavy every day to SED. It takes more nuance and complicates but it still can be done and is a proven method for improving one's squat. I agree it is probably not THE most optimal way to train for powerlifters or weightlifters, but they arent giving SED its due in this video either.

    Try prescribing that to general population and see if they don’t wreck themselves. You don’t know how body works. Don't have a squat rack as of yet, so I've been doing light front squats, trying to relearn oly. movements, and deadlifting+OHP+rows. Decided that I'd deadlift every day and realized within a week why that was a shit idea.

I did sessions emphasizing volume one day and sessions emphasizing intensity the other. I trained my front squat and back squat on the same day when I did volume for back squat I did intensity for for front squat and vice versa or some times intensity on the same days worked like a charm! I added 30kg to my front squat and 21kg to my back squat. Now I'm looking to break 200kg might have to check out your program so I don't have to think about it anymore.

    @osunaarashisthirdroundcard8362

    Yeah, I remember watching a video in which Aita talked about that. I suspect it worked for those Bulgarian lifters because: (i) they were the elite of the elite lifters and most likely had elite traits (genetics for recovery, response to such training stimuli etc.); (ii) they were just tough-as-nails rural farmboys from the poorest strata of society and would plough through any adversity to make a better life for themselves via elite sports (Aita said that kids from these areas were usually recruited heavily by the Bulgarian weightlifting system); (iii) they had been doing this type of training for many years and their bodies had adapted extensively to it, thus getting somewhat used to it (I'm sure growing up on farms would have helped greatly too);; (iv) they were most likely juiced out of their minds (at least up until the 80s) which greatly helps with recovery. I think Aita even cited some of the above as possible reasons himself, if I recall correctly.

    Does this apply to body weight squats as well? I’ve been squatting everyday for the past week to try to help my mobility. I can’t sit into a deep squat naturally, so I put a plate under my heels and sit in a squat to improve dorsiflection. I definitely notice a lot of knee pressure, especially when I stand out of the squat after sitting for a while. This hasn’t translated to any knee pain or joint pain but I’m worried it might after watching this video. I’m probably one of the least mobile people you’ve ever seen, stretches haven’t really been working for me but it seems like sitting in a deep squat a few times a day has been sliiiightly helping. If squatting everyday for my mobility isn’t safe for my knees, what would you recommend for mobility work?

  • @juanminglao3699

    you dont need to squat everyday for mobility. Just sits down in the position for 4 sets of 30 seconds and try to keep your back straight. Don't force depth. next to this do other stretches that target specific muscles rather than the movement

    This is probably just a specific case for myself, but I tried squatting every day a couple of months back, and it completely ruined my sleep. I was going to bed every night feeling really tired, and I would be able to quickly enter that state where I'm about to fall asleep, only for a random involuntary muscle jerk to occur, and I would be wide awake without being able to fall asleep until hours later; it was like my CNS was too jacked up to allow me to fall asleep or something. It was kinda stupid of me to have not drawn a correlation between squatting every day and my worsening sleep, but I just thought, if anything, the squats should be helping me get to sleep, and it had to be something else that was messing me up. After about two or three weeks, I was feeling completely drained and skipped squatting for a couple of days, and during those days, I slept like a rock lol In addition to that, there was the whole "feeling like you're going somewhere but not actually getting anywhere" thing going on, as well as the knee pain, which as said in the video, would always miraculously disappear after some warmup. In any case, not a great experience and most likely won't be repeating it unless there comes a day when I feel like I'm sleeping too well lol

Did get some patella tendon soreness but not much compared to rugby and easily mitigated. i had to improve my technique and control significantly out of necessity which helped all of my disciplines/performance values/competitions. it was quite worrisome knowing i had increased my likelihood of injury but the power/feeling was/is so amazing and im literally looking forward to doing it again in a month.

    Russell Orhii is the only person who I heard talking about doing squat every day successfully and he's a genetic freak world record holder and world champion. I think squat every day and the Bulgarian method are for 2 types of people the.0.001% of top tier athletes and gear heads . The rate of attrition in the Bulgarian method was extremely high and the athletes who were in the programme were all in super elite class to start off with and they were full time athletes who lived on site and were juiced. Also the whole Bulgarian system was a cycle based on winning gold medals in the Olympics so they only needed 1 lifter in each weight class to peak for qualifying and the games . If he was finished as an athlete after the Olympics then so be it the system had another lifter waiting to replace him . So I don't see where the compulsion to squat every day comes from. No one ever talks about deadlift every day because you'd be fried in no time or bench every day. I'm purely talking from a novice powerlifting point of view

But bench is different from squat, I tried a squat every day and by week 3 I was done, no knee issues but I just felt so weak and tired. Took a couple of weeks off and didn’t get stronger at all.

    Squatting everyday works. Can’t believe it’s like almost 10 years later and this thing is still a debate lol. I personally did it and went from 150kg to 230kg for a single in about 18 months. I did go through a period where I couldn’t walk comfortably (but I could run no problem, weird enough). I’m just getting back into working out, I walked into the gym to do 143kgx3 at 231lbs (not impressive but I’m on a 6-7 year layoff). After 3 months I’m at 150kgx3, had to do some conditioning to prep for 4-6 days/week of squats everyday. I have a sore knee (the back of my left knee) and tendinitis in my right hip. I do a lot of mobility work (I’m 29 now) to deal with it, other than that Im feeling strong and my strength is returning. Not saying everyone should squat everyday, I honestly feel it’s not for everyone, but try and see and know it comes with a cost but the if you persevere you’ll see it’s nothing intimidating. The hardest part about squatting everyday isn’t even the squatting, it’s finding the will and time to go and workout. When you aren’t chasing medals and have a family it can be a pain in the ass, but that’s about it.

    He switches his movement like every week, plus gets paid to do non-strength training at work. A lot of the time he picks a movement that is novel and as such it is easy to progress rapidly. If you had not benched in 3 months, then decided to max every day for a week, then when you stalled switched to close grip then when you stalled, switched to incline, then when you stalled switched to overhead, then when you stalled switched to single arm dumbell... you are basically autoregulating by changing the movement, and you are still doing enough muscle damage to make a lot of gains. It's an interesting idea, but it is really easy to get carried away and just pump out day after day of grindy shitty 1rms while your form gets worse and worse until you hurt yourself.

    Constructive criticism from a professional copywriter: The titles of your videos are seldom informative. You should lure the listener with a title that tell them how they will benefit. The title of this video is not sooo bad, but some of your other titles are really cryptic (goblin feet....biznaz...???). Cheers. Great content.

    the real point is that weightlifting is NOT something we should do regulary. That is why people respond so much better to bodyweight training/calistenics even when doing it regulary/high volume. The more natural a movement feels the more volume you can tolerate. A heavy bb squat is never a natural movement. Hiking a very steep mountain (a lot of step ups) is a natural movement. Bench press is never a natural movement. Push ups definitely are. For example I inreased my 5rm squat even with no i mean NO bb squating for 1 month. But i did lots of single leg work (weighted step ups, lunges, jumps,..)

    Very bad video completely biased. They are trying to sound smart by using technical terms.
