Got sunburned on my back and tattoo'd the day after (not on my sunburn lol) so I miss squats and now I see this. I feel motivated and trapped because I can't at the moment hahahaha.

Out of shear curiousty - does anyone know what that big yellow cross bar with wires / machines attached to it does in this building? I can make out that it says Demag, but it just seems like such an interesting piece of hardware lol

Looking through your videos because I'm sick right now and training. On a video 7 months ago you spoke about the best idea (unless you have Olympics in 2 days) is just to give yourself rest and not train. Wondering if this is still your general advice? Or maybe just training at 70-80% of normal load?

I don't think size of muscle has any correlation with metrics like this. Its more to do with intra/intermuscular coordination, rate coding and motor unit recruitment. If what you said is true, bodybuilders would ALL have the best jumps. Elite track guys have great quads sure, but they dont have to be overly hyperrtrophied...the look of the quads is result not cause Be better

@@sikastrength riiiiiiiiight. Bc all this information thats been known for DECADES is somehow unable to be deciphered and understood by anyone who doesnt have a silly youtube page. Again, be better. If you have a rebuttal, lets hear it bud. Please, enlighten me, how "big quads" = big vertical. The only acceptable answer, would be, larger muscle has POTENTIAL for stronger muscle and thus higher force output...potential does not mean automatic. Surely, your VJ had nothing to do with the strength or power of your legs, its all about the size...give me a break

20yrs ago before cross fit was a popular thing, people would say they were cross training which basically meant you did 2 or more sports or activities to get fit. You could play tennis twice a week, wts 3 times a week and touch football once a week and you could say you were cross training.

I genuinely don't even believe that Thor actually lifted 500 kg. it was at his home gym and there were no officials present, there are so many ways he could have fudged it.

As someone that's been getting into Rowing over the past few years, it's quickly become apparent to me that being strong and fit aren't necessarily distinct goals. For success in that sport, two key factors (aside from technique) is being able to generate a high wattage but also maintain that high wattage over 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 m etc. Sure, you can definitely get super strong or super fit by ignoring one in favour of the other, but doing both is arguably one of the best ways to be a successful sportsperson.

I feel like I've broadly wanted to fix my body composition for a long time but this obviously conflicts with getting stronger/bigger. I'd be interested in a framework or program changes to account for when looking to cut/improve body comp. Would you start a weightlifting program with the intention of losing weight and not fixate on max out days? Would you lower 1RM percentages to allow yourself to still do all the work but at a lower intensity? Or is something more optimal? Would be great to hear your thoughts.

Currently recovering from a stress fracture in my shin so can’t train how I’d fully like to. But I very much identify with this. I’m a jiu jitsu purple belt who likes to train 2-3x a week, working towards a 500ish lb back squat, a +150lb pullup, a 335-365lb incline bench, and running 20-35 miles a week

Wouldn’t say I’m a hybrid athlete so much as a broad focus strength athlete. I’ve won local strongman competitions and throw in the B class in the Highland Games. I plan on getting both a powerlifting and weightlifting total. I enjoy supertotal training to drive both my strength and athleticism.

Am I way off? mentioned in video long ago as a recommended book. My googling is coming up with nothing. Thanks for all your content and japes.

This seems like hybrid, by this definition, is just people wanting to be healthy, have fun doing it, and last through their later years. Nobody wants to be like the boomers anymore; spend your whole life in a chair, making money, missing out on life, and then when you get into your 70s not being able to stand up and desperately trying to make it to the gym to extend your poorly used life an extra year
