    Heyo! That's me at the end of the video. The main idea behind the drop catches is rapid eccentric loading for high levels of force absorption and fast twitch muscle fibre recruitment. Rate of force absorption and rate of force development being very important in sprinting. There definitely is also an element of training the tendons too. I've allways been a fan of this exercise and the shotputters in the gym like it too. Also note on the previous hang clean video, I'm 6'5 so it wasn't quite 2x bodyweight but we'll get there!

    How many ft/meters of wrap per leg do you think Lasha uses? Do they make a full-leg Olympic weightlifting wrap/sleeve? IDK about you, but wrapping your legs the way you want takes a lot of practice; if you put them on too tight, your legs start to get numb and uncomfortable. I hit 140kg jerk from the rack a few weeks back. Hoping to hit 140-160kg clean and jerk routinely by end of the year. 130'something in competition. Snatch max in competition 100kg I am power snatching and hang snatching 95 pretty easy. Goal is to hit 120kg before end of year Context... I am nearly 3yrs post-accident (after breaking ribs 2-7 (mildly displaced - upper middle/left back) and left scapula (had a 3inch non-displaced fracture). Tore my left lat muscle a bit as well. It's still smaller noticably than my dominant right side which was not injured. 🛴 Accident from car nearly running my ass over lol. Almost died but glad I'm almost back to my previous strength. Tl:Dr, never break your ribcage. You realize so fast how much your body depends on certain muscles to function or stand or lay down and get up. Very painful for the first few weeks and took about 6 months to feel stronger and be able to do HIIT classes to ease into recovery before I started Oly training again 14mo after the accident date

    John did the more volume work for a few weeks right after the last meet and now hes going back to more strenght focus but he still did the volume work its not like he went to 3x3 directly, he was doing sets of 5 and 6 not long ago

    Something interesting about Hampton Morris's squat: he is using a powerbar (notice the rings are a bit closer and the end cap on the bar) instead of a weightlifting bar. A lot less whippy and really changes the dynamics of the rebound at the bottom of a squat.

    The jumper, Stefan Holm, is a former world champion (Paris 2003) and olympic champion (Athens 2004) in the high jump from Sweden. He has also won the indoor WC 4 times and the indoor EC 2 times. His personal best is 237cm (outdoors 2008), but he has jumped 240cm indoors (2005). He himself is 181cm long . Here is a link to the 240 jump: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lK1nztWmXZnKlJs.html

    Lopez could possibly hit the 400 total if he hits 185 in the snatch.. only way Karlos loses is if he has a bad/mediocre snatch day.

    What the hell. When you're not a short guy and you watch someone who could casually jump over you. Watching him jumping sparked one question though: why do we prefer to jump on left leg even if we're right footed?

  • @thom8363

    @thom8363

    Because you 'lead' with the right leg, its the one that drives in the direction you want to go. Kinda the same thing as when you want to kick a ball, your right leg is the 'precision'one and the left is the support. Same idea for the jump
