farag’s smile when he loses a good point is what makes him so great, he just loves the game

Jason Zhou Yes I saw Farag smile when Paul wins game point with drop shot in game 1. Just shows his confidence.

Xd he just forced the stroke all the match
I counted 76 shots, not including the serve, during the first 10-10 tie break point. Pretty incredible. I would have had needed a stretcher and IV drip after that kind of rally.
You gotta love Farag/Coll each being coached by girlfriend/wife, both being pro female players as well.
When I saw the first point I realized that this will be a long match.❤️
The long lines are so exactly and strong, what a masterpiece😍
It was incredible match that we could notice many breathtaking moments. Needless to say, FARAG just did what he used to be himself. But for the COLL, it was amazing that his level reached the peak of PSA league. So impressive that he leaps on every course FARAG attempted to him. We write it as Squash, but read it as Drama :)
What a sport What for players Thanks guys Cheers from luxembourg 🇱🇺👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks squashtv, Merry Christmas!
Amazing match, and Farag gave it everything he had. I think most of Coll’s strokes in last game were extremely harsh - that seems to be the way the marking is on the pro circuit these days
Really amazing match!! Sadly the crowd was so quiet it felt dull! Farag's smash nic at around 42 minute's got about 3 applauses where it should be close to shot of the month.

British crowd were supporting Coll because British like underdogs / Coll is from NZ which is Britain’s offspring. Still very respectful though compared to a lot of squash crowds.
Merry Christmas to everyone except the IOC

Yes correct Playing that for 30 years Every games hoping to go in it But nuts Squash Olimpic ever
Also, good to see a squash game where front row isn’t entirely composed of other squash players.
One of the best matches ever; two of the fittest and most talented players in the game, with characters to match.
I like how Farag and Coll have their girlfriends also as a coach, kinda cool 👀🎾

So it means that she is no longer his friend?! Fuu logic
Farag is such a nice guy😇
Get it Paul!
Ali Farag is a very gracious guy...........a great match......Paul Coll did everything he could but the force was against him in the end it seems.........let's see what happens at the BO in 2020.
Great game honestly, unlucky those last 2 stroke calls I think they were quite harsh, they were mostly Let but still what a game !
PSA: When are we going to see the matches posted when Coll beats Farag?
I like how his wife is the only one who doesn't stand in the end when he wins...lol
4:07 don't often see a clap from coll. Good stuff.
In the first game at 10-10, a wrong decision by umpire at this crucial stage of the game , gave confidence to Paul Coll to play with more audacity. I hope the referee be fair as Paul coll is equally a good player.

I prefer "yes let", but "no let" is the standard these days... (The first 10-10 rally looked like stroke to Farag (given as let)). The problem with so-called "minimal interference" is that the player fighting through must resort to an inferior shot which can put him behind in the rally. Too much abuse of this rule...
Does anyone know what kind of ball they use? Double dot?
31:00 highlight
In the first game at 9-10, when Farag stoped the rally, whats happend? Was it let ball?
@Ro-12-21

Yes. Farag felt Coll's straight lob at 13:38 was out. He played on and appealed to the ref at the end of the rally. The ref gave a let because Ali 'lost' the rally. Had Ali won the rally it would have been his point. Strange situation but within the rules.

Safety of Mr. Coll. There is limited areas on main wall, where Farag could place the ball. Didn't catch that at first as well.
@opensourcecurrency

Coll in the way of cross-court off the front wall. It's not where the ball is when Farag catches it on the racquet; he can't move forward into the shot because Coll is not clear.
"That sinewy body of Ali Farag" oooof but phenomenal match
I wonder if this years final ( which I'd hoped this was ) will eventually make it to the poor/ mean folks platform? No matter...this game was nearly as good.

I get to "play" doubles with a bunch of other geriatrics. Its friendly fun exercise for the like minded. Played on a singles court it has to be friendly ( with lots of lets ... no strokes ). And we all applaud the rare good winners, no matter who hits them. And we all carry disabilites that we just have to play within.
Who else thinks Paul Coll looks like a brother of Antoine Griezmann

I don't know if you are listening to this Paul, but your technique is great. When Farag plays a loose shot, you sometimes chuck it back to the right or left corner, where the rally continues. A volley drop with the same style and discipline as Nick Mathew would be perfect, at many of these moments.
@mwong987

I understand Ali Farag's game. The first game and half, he plays exceptionally defensive, mostly rallies to the back of the court even when he has the chance. He uses his defensive game to keep his opponent firmly in the back. At a critical juncture, he decides to attack and the effect is more lethal because his opponent had thought it would he Farag was playing a "long" game.

@@mwong987 That was Jansher's trick and it isn't just the opponent's expectation- he has been "softened up" by the relentless extended rallies and becomes vulnerable to attack.

this is a pathetic camera angle. Please do not do this again.
Announcing is sickeningly star struck. Not worth watching.
Coll, who only has a patient attitude without overdoing it, so bored, so bored
