Thankyou for the demo, i notice you don't take a very obvious split step to go forward. You use more of the rear leg to kick off. Which suits me because i have trouble trying to coordinate the split step. Wheres as kick off my back leg allows me to to know that i only concentrate on one movement to get going. Once again thankyou for the demos. Glad i came across your clips by accident and near one last time to watch videos. Its freed my mind in my game.

Hi Simon, well you will be oh so happy then that our next series is an intro on footwork and there is a particular video which will be on the split step movement and how to implement it and the logic behind it :) so please look out for that in the next week or 2! However in this moment I will give you a brief reply regarding this topic and please feel free to ask anything after the video release if you have questions. I don’t know what you have been taught before but a split step in Squash is the ‘splitting’ of the feet to initiate momentum from the opposite way you want to go by placing the ball of your foot behind you at the optimum distance you feel you can get power from not too big not too small. The ankle must be stiff and calf strong to help initiate this. Glad I can help Simon and best of luck with your continued development 💪🏼
