That is a washer knife-for some reason I like some of them being setup with higher friction 🤷‍♀️ If you like the Manix 2 and have the intent to upgrade the scales I’d recommend you do not get the LW version because the internals are different and no one currently makes aftermarket scales. That is the factory edge. The only thing I’ve done to that knife (besides cranking down the pivot) is cutting ~1.5 loops out of the ball bearing lock spring.

The spring is a bit strong.

@@richardkev3077 It definitely is! I think there are some ball cage upgrade kits that include a different spring (like those from OCD4EDC).

BTW, you’re welcome to adjust that pivot and experiment with different positions.

The manix 2 is an excellent edc. It can be tactical, slicey, utilitarian, etc. The LW model felt weird to me too in the beginning but it’s my go to edc over everything else & I have many. It breaks in & falls shut without blade play. The strength of the lock is also fantastic. The g10/s30v version is good but the balance is off to me because they didn’t skeletonize the liners for some odd reason. Coupled with the wide profile, I just grab the LW.

An exclusive or the g10 s110v versions are skeletonized. And AWT makes scales for the manix 2 lw now 🎉🎉

The only spyderco I have is a very old delica made with Aus 8 ,full serrated and frn scales ,and a plastic one way tip up clip. I think it felt cheap so I never got on that 🚍 bus . Still waiting on that PM 2 from Northern knives maybe that will change my mind 😂🐊🏴‍☠️

The Manix 2 is probably my favorite of all the Spydercos. I don't own one currently but when I did, it was the G10 scales. And the action on mine wasn't as sluggish as that one.

The Manix 2 lw is one of my favorites. I have the translucent blue BD1n version and I really enjoy it.

I luv spyderco but if other companies were able to have a hole in the blade it would be game over ...somehow they were able to patent a circle 😮😅😊

Do you think S110V is better then Maxamet for keeping it sharper longer.

S110v has less edge retention and is just a bit tougher. Which really isn’t that tough. MagnaCut is where it’s at. 👍🏻my 2 cents

I just don't get the appeal of Spyderco. Mind you, all I have is Oknife ad cheaper so I'm not an expert either but just a guy who has a few knives .

They put out great steels in a wide variety. And their heat treatment is top notch. 👍🏻And cheaper than Benchmade.
