1 0z shaved bees wax Place in glass bottle Add 4 oz of olive oil or coconut oil Put bottle in pot of water until wax melts. Apply with foam painters brush and let wooden surface dry. Great video thanks

Hi great video Why use olive oil if you are already using another oil (coconut) ? Secondly, i hear that olive oil goes bad in short time so its not good for wood use...is it true?

This way is obviously better and safer than using linseed oil which is highly combustible on rags after you are done wiping.

Wont olive oil go rancid in hot environments? The smoke point is much lower than coconut oil.

Ah, I thought this was for butcher blocks. What would you recommend as far as a natural, non toxic finish for cherry slab with undermounted sink (exposed to water occasionally)?
