Sprinter Tool List for the Traveler, Complete!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

A simple tool list is a complicated discussion...
Just a list of tools would let a bunch of you buy the tools never knowing what they are for or why you are carrying it. That won't help on the side of the road. Hopefully this video will help you decide what tools you should have with you at all times.

Picking up my first T1N tomorrow 😁😁😁😁I've always done my own work since my first car was an old air cooled VW . Thankyou FVM for this list !I am going to complete this kit today . And I look forward to rewatching your videos over and over again as I struggle through some side of the road or campground repair 😂

First time sprinter owner here i love vans. I bought a dodge 2500 06 with turbo with 190k on it the transmission rides better once the van is warmed up it takes usually 15 to 20mins of it sitting for this to happen if i drive it without warming it up it feels like it has a slight hesitation in first gear when accelerating and once it's warmed up it goes away alot and is just very slight

I wouldn't let it idle 15 minutes, especially when not warmed up. Our vans won't warm quickly with no load, and running cold is not good for any diesel. I would start with reading codes and move on to testing fuel pressure. We have videos about the right meters, setting them up, testing injectors and rail pressure. I've not needed to split a chain so I don't know. I looked at a few and didn't get a clear idea of which is the right tool for our chains.

Excellent information Bill! Question: I don't think my 2006 Dodge Sprinter 3500's OEM bottle jack has ever been used. Before going to South America, should I service it in some way? Does it take fluids & rubber parts?

The stock bottle jacks are too small and unreliable. I expect they can be rebuilt but there must be something better.

@@JohnS-zq8ks I carried a small aluminum floor jack for a while. I don't even carry a spare tire any more so a jack is just dead weight.

@@FloridaVanMan I've been in Ecuador for 2 months. But when I get back, I'll see what's in my rig and check with you. If I could carry two spares, I would for South America. It's extremely remote with NO roadside anything. I found the MB OEM jack supplier, but have no idea what size to get. Maybe I'll get a larger one if you're thinking the OEM jack is smallish. I also carry some 2 x 12 blocks to crib with, etc. I'd rather buy a new jack then worry about an 18 year old jack's seals working worth a crap. I'm not set on the OEM provider, although it seems a good German brand. I don't care about cost when it comes to this equipment and I saw some good ones on Grainger's site. I'm on the hunt for the best (strongest, most reliable) bottle jack that will fit into the floorboard space.

The initial download to your phone is just generic code reader. We need the "Benz_Sprinter" download package. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y6p3ssV7e5O4ac4.html
