    As always, I appreciate your tutorial. I think you may be one of my cat's favourites (and mine, too). Mao Mao enjoys watching with me and I think she likes your voice as well as the movements of your brush.

    I hope you certainly give this one a go! Do you have a specific flower you like to paint? I don't tend to paint flowers, but leaves are therapeutic. I've thought about learning how to paint wildflowers, but haven't done it yet. Happy landscape painting! Let me know how it goes :)

    Thank you so much 😀 I do love simplicity in my paintings, but I'll certainly think about adding a few more details. In future videos, I'm thinking about adding in some other subjects, like a lighthouse, cabin, rocks etc. Let me know if there's something you'd like to see and maybe I can tackle it. :)

    Hi , I`m always watching your tutition vids and I think I am learning from your style a lot , But can I dare ask ,why do you use the aqualite 12 to do the wash with instead of say a "flat I" or 1.1/2 " wash brush" . Which in my limited understanding would be easier to do the wash with to cover more space in one go? I must add I`m not critcising you, its just an interested query .

  • @JackiePeacock

    @JackiePeacock

    Thank you so much Tommy for leaving me a comment. I don’t really have an answer to your question because I tend to grab the 12 because it’s one of my favorite bigger brushes and usually I will wet my paper and use that brush to put down soft paint to create a misty effect and I’ll use the point of the brush to create distant trees, so that’s probably why I’m in the habit of grabbing it but Using a flat square brush of any size is always a great idea because it will hold more water and you’re less likely to damage the bristles like I have done with this 12 round. But I actually like the fact that the brush is frayed because it gives me the texture I want when it comes to my trees. of course, using a flat brush or a wash. Brush is always a great idea and you’re less likely to damage your brush.

    @@JackiePeacock A really understandable explanatory answer Jackie , and I so understand perfectly your answer. It's all down to what method suits who I suppose, as there is maybe no exact best way. Gosh the things I`m learning from all of you really proficient excellent people who are giving your time & effort to teach others is truly admirable, and thanks a million as without you tutors , we`d be floundering.

    I notice you don’t tape your paper. How do you keep it from buckling? I don’t stretch my paper now as it’s harder to lift certain colors. I love to paint flowers and objects like fruit, and people too. Also, I looked on Amazon and looked for the brushes you listed. Why are the brushes called a number, then in us size it’s smaller? This is very confusing!

    Greetings! Hmm as far as the brushes I'm not sure. I have links in the descriptions that should take you to specific brushes. I love that you like to paint fruit! I've seen videos on that, and the level of detail is amazing. And for answering your paper question; so I usually spray or mist the back of my paper using a misting bottle. This allows me to stick it to whatever board I'm using. For larger papers I do this with wood and for smaller papers I can do this with an acrylic board. I like the boards because it lets me move the painting around, rather than be stuck on the main table I'm using. If I'm working with a true "wet-onto-wet" style of painting, then I make sure to wet the front and back of my paper using a sponge. I do this because it's faster. Any sponge should do; of course you can use a brush to do this, too.
