I polished everything and filed a marvel disconnect cut into the bottom of my slide.

How do you like the port? Thinking about getting either 4.25 or 5. 4.25 seems more balanced. What do you think?

Same. I think its the recoil spring. I got the p and its for duty use so i dont mind it so much

Smoothed the disconnector, polished everything possible. You can take a little pressure off the disconnect spring on the sear spring to keep the disconnector from sticking up so far that slows down the slide. Just time and energy made a world of difference. Also filed in a disconnect ramp on the bottom of the slide.

I would have found this pew more interesting if they would have nitride finished frame and slide. Ceracoat is a bad idea for the long tightly fit slide to frame as the coating will gull up after some use. After gulling starts will take hundreds of rounds to clear up and be reliable unless fitted way lose.

I think the most important things I did was ramp the slide for the disconnecter and clear out the cerakote from the rails.

Not worried at all about my warranty. Once the barrel and slide got ported that went out the window. None of my 1911/2011 are stock. I bought this just for the grip and slide assembly. Sold the grip, built a cheely grip and all hard tool steel parts. Still way cheaper than a staccato P.

@@TheRealZJE313 lots of my buddies have them. But they are not for me. I’ve had several Wilson combats and sold them all. My friends all enjoy them. But my friends who have shot my prodigy all are amazed and waiting for 5” models to get back in stock. Can’t go wrong with either I’d say.

I’d say, it’s because the disconnector drags and slows the slide down. I polished mine and it was mint.

Does it have any con for barrel and the slide is too fit?

The frame and slide fit is factory from springfield. I haven’t touched anything.

@@nineshotmat tighter tolerances will mean more cleaning depending on use of the firearm

But you hear the slide catching alway back it’s not completely smooth

A super smooth slide is prone to a super smooth feeding failure and a premature frame/slide damage.

I've never had an issue with my infinity or any of my other guns that are this slick and smooth.. But ill keep an eye out.

The surface finish where the slide moves on must be insanely low

the finish basically wore off after some range visits, i just polished it.. I didn't sand them aggressively... thing i used 5000 grit, with some polish.. Ill probably have the frame welded and refit or talk to doug for some accrurails.

It needed to have everything polished and the disconnector reshaped to optimize the smoothness. Before If i pulled the slide back, the slide would hang/stop on the disco. little tic helped a ton.

Once I get it all squared away, welding the rails to make the fit a little better, I’ll have the whole gun DLC’d. It’s just a toy to play with. Couldn’t justify the sandhawk price and didn’t want to buy an xc.

Ive had no issues with Cerakote. My Business End Customs 1911 is coated and runs like a top too... but also comparing 1200 dollar prodigy to a 12k 1911.

@Justin Pelletier I'm sure will become loser over time if runs well from jump. I was aerospace machinist for 8 years when parts require coating we factor into tolerance. We know precisely how thick coating will be and deduct from final demetion.
