Hey Carla! Normally when repotting it's recommended that the new pot is about 1 inch larger than the old one. Since this one is a lot larger, please be very mindful to not overwater it! Have a nice day :)

Putting a Monstera in a pot that size is fine. Those plants really develop a lot of roots especially at that stage of development and if it’s in good sunlight, it will grow into that pot within a few months.

At first, I picked out a smaller pot, and the lady at the checkout stand convinced me to get the bigger one. She said it grows fast. This plant has been so resilient and I’m honestly shocked she still alive!! Will make sure to not overwater😊❤

Hi Carla, when replanting, you should tear tenderly at the bottom of the plant ti pulling some of the roots out so that can spread in the news soil/container. After placing in the new container add water, but not too much.

A dresser is a good idea. You have a good taste and i‘m waiting to see the option you will choose 😊 I personally would only put a chair in this room if i realy can imagine myself sitting and reading there. I‘d choose the bed to read 😻

You may need a stick or thin piece of wood pushed down into the plant, then tie a string to one branch so that it grows more upright. The plant is definitely going to start growing more now that it's repotted. The paper on Samson's foot was priceless. Like when we walk out of the bathroom at the club with the toilet paper stuck to our heels. LOL. #toocute #SamsonIsEntertainingMe

Long dresser. Chair in the corner. A beautiful piece of art over the dresser.

The problem with notebooks is that one is a meal planner, one are random recipes, one is my thoughts, one is useful computer stuff, one is spiritual stuff and so I end up with like 10 notepads. The walls are covered with book shelves and filled up. and then one bookshelf has turned into cat bunk beds. Come over and organize me Carla.

I vote for a long dresser! I bought one last year and it completely changed my bedroom! I like the idea of a chair in the bedroom too!

Two video in one week woo-hoo. About the bedroom how about a small dresser by the side of the bed and in the corner where you have the clothing rack a reading nook with a chair and the round table that you use as a night table. Just an idea 😉.

Please make a video about the air fryer after you have tried some recipes. Its so pretty!

Carla, I vote long dresser as well, styled with some of your pretty accessories. Also, it would look stunning if you moved the beautiful landscape painting by your bed to above where the dresser will be. It would fill the wall so nicely and mirror the beautiful view out of your picture window. Then maybe hang the octopus picture on the wall where the landscape is now. Look for a sitting chair in a light blue or pinstripe fabric. It would be perfect to read there with the light from the window. ❤️

I would recommend teasing the roots out next time but monsteras are very tough plants. She will thrive in that new pot 😊❤️ Also with the weather warming up for you, increase her water and get a liquid fertiliser to feed her every couple months

A dresser will not only look lovely, but give you storage. May I suggest with the dresser you get a nice mirror to place above the dresser. Instead of a chair I think in that corner you should place a small decorative clothing rack. This will enable you to hang clothing on an as needed basis. I love your apartment its charming and chic. Mr. Samson looks like a wolf, he seems like such a gentle, kind dog.

I vote tall narrow dresser. Keep that space with the wardrobe rack open and more airy

Generally a pot 1”’bigger will do the trick. Make sure there’s a drainage hole. Really depends on the species- some enjoy being root-bound and others do not. Also see if it prefers direct or indirect sunlight. I love plants 🌱 🪴 very grounding in the home 💚. Also some plants enjoy food spikes once a month or so, just research and see. That’s a pretty plant. If you forget watering/or when you travel maybe a little water globe thingie could help in the pot too.

I love your videos. You are so natural and beautiful. So tired of looking at other videos where people live in big mansions. They clean and organize even if there is already clean. They must be very rich, big pantry full of food, walk in closets full of clothes color cordinated. You are real, love your style and your dog. Excuse my spelling. I am Swedish. Long dresser and a little chair for sure Carla! Maybe a rectangular rug by the dresser or a round rug to contain the chair and the table

The next time you need to repot, especially if you see the roots tightly wound together like that and it’s a struggle to get it out of its current spot… it’s a good idea to “tickle” the roots as my mom would say. Take your fingers or a little garden rake and gently loosen them up a little bit at the bottom. This helps the plant realize that it can stretch out and breathe in its new, larger pot and it will encourage the roots to point back down into the new soil, instead of staying all tangled. Plant will have an easier time drinking this way!💜🪴

I can't tell if the new pot has drainage but if not you'll want to drill holes to prevent root rot. If you give it some support stakes and move it by the window it will be very happy! ❤

If you add a long dresser, you could move the large painting from your reading corner to be to hang over the dresser. I think it gets a little lost in the corner, especially if you're going to have your back against it. Hanging it over the dresser will give it a little more room to breathe and you can look at it from the bed as well. You can move your plant to be closer to the window if there's not enough room near your dresser to keep it there. A little tip for larger/heavier plants - get them on a trolley to move them around more easily.

Love a long dresser over there. It would fit perfectly 👍

I think your flowers look better than store bought flowers; you did a good thing.

Hi Carla! Your monstera needs more light and nutrients. You can get food drops that will perk her up and push out more leaves. Chop off all the older small dead ones. Also you could do with a moss pole to hold her up because it’s getting big and they struggle to hold themselves up, that’s why she’s flopping over so much x

.....I put a shoe storage cabinet on top of my long dresser with plastic "shoe slots organizer 8 pack" that allow you to put one shoe under and one on top then the pair side by side. Great space saver and I can see my shoes at a glance. Amazon sells these.

@@TheCarlaProject the floors are being refinished this week. The cleaners come Monday (so much construction dust), we’ll unpack the pod Monday/Tuesday and I’ll move in by Wednesday, hopefully! So many boxes, so much stuff to declutter. My contractors did a really beautiful job w my little house even if I will have to eat pb&j and ramen for the foreseeable future!

The video says 8:04. When you transplant a plant, you should only go about an inch, to an inch and half bigger in the pot size. And don't have the double pot like you did. Choose the proper size, add some dirt to the bottom, put your cluster in there, and pack the new soil around the outside. Cut off those big dead leaves and mist the whole plant down. Add only a small amount of water. And make sure it has proper light. You will have good results! 🎉

Reading nook is a yes for me❤

Dresser would look amazing! My mom has the same water filter and she put it on a stand, like the wire ones people use to add more space in their cabinets for dishes. That way it doesn’t have to be on the edge of the counter and you can put a glass under the spigot and you don’t have to hold the glass.

We have so many little libraries where I live it’s great! We also have seed exchanges and little pantries too

Def the long dresser in the corner and chair in the other corner for a reading nook next to the bed x

Love it! One thing I did is I began keeping two small baskets with me, one in my car to take out the little things. When I would walk in and out of the house I would feel anxiety carrying everything in my arms and overwhelmed and dreadful to do it and then I keep another little similar plastic basket. You can get them at Target or wherever and when I'm done with something or at the end of the night I put everything in the basket and take 2 minutes to walk everything back to its original home and then I put the empty basket near the trash can or on the kitchen counter for the next day again 😀♥️

Hi Carla, I knower no one ever says it, but making the bed improves/increases bed mites.. 😬 At least if you do it right away, when it's still warm & damp. Mites love this climate and thrive in it. Let is cool and dry out first (1-2 hours). 😊💕

Carla! Lety here. Im clueless when it comes to interior decorating but I've heard that in small places it's best to have big furniture instead of a bunch of small pieces of furniture. I think the dresser with six drawers with a large mirror on top would look great and the mirror would open up the room. Plus the lounge chair in the corner. So you'd eliminate the long mirror (maybe relocate it within your apt) and the current clothes hanging thing (sorry whatever it's called lol). I hope this makes sense. I ❤ me some chopped up lettuce too. 😋 🥗 🤔 I’m thinking a dresser in the bachelor’s chest size, (looks like a big nightstand) and only one. Store your smaller sized clothing items in the bachelor’s chest. Ditch the clothes rack and store your clothes in the closet. Add a super comfortable chair in the room with an ottoman and an overhead floor lamp for reading, and take that small table at the side of your bed and use it next to the comfy chair. Sell the octopus art 🐙 and move the other art that’s hanging to a different wall, it’s a bit too large for that wall. I can’t quite tell what area in the room you should put the bachelor’s chest. Want me to come help? LOL 😂😜❤

The gardening stores sell little rolling things that you can put. Your planters on. You may want to get one for that big plant because It's gonna be heavy once you put water in it and you move things around all the time.
