I love this series and I really hope that you're able to find a good home. I get really stunned by the breathtaking beauty of the countryside and it makes me wish that I could make the same leap that you did, but I understand that it's not an easy path nor for everyone. But the absolute awe-inspiring beauty is so humbling.

While I love the looking for a new place, I feel quite sad to think of you leaving this lovely little hood and your friendly neighbours! It's so oen and such a beautiful view from your current place. But I am sure there are just as wonderful ones to be found.

Hello from Canada! 🇨🇦. I really enjoy following along on your adventures to find an akyia (?) - and of course I love the footage of Pancake 😀. Happy birthday to your sweet pup!

I'm amazed at how the Japanese can just leave home with everything in it as it was when it was occupied. I realize it is probably a deceased estate but a little clean up would go along way. Only in Japan. I wish I was looking for an Akiya. If you ever need a good carpenter hit me up. PS we are heading into winter here in Australia.

quick tip, i recommend you get a regular Y-shape Harness for Pancake instead of a norwegian style harness! the strap going across the chest can limit the shoulder movement of the dog and many vets and people who know more about dogs body structure than me 😂 recommend people avoid these kind of harnesses and especially in younger dogs it can prevent proper development in the shoulderjoints/range of movement! :)

I love that Pancake and my pup (Hanako) are about the same age! She just turned one on May 9th. I really love watching your videos and seeing a part of the small Japanese country side. It seems so peaceful! Good luck on your hunt for a new akiya! Just remember, even if you love the house, you have to love the location. Houses can be changed, but the location can't be changed.

PALOMA!!! What an upgrade! That's what I use in my off-grid house in Hawai'i. It's mounted outside right next to my shower on the back side of my house which is super handy if the water gets too hot and needs a quick adjustment. The flowers out front look beautiful! 🌸🌿

Glad you like Japanese crafts, because I'm hoping to include more of it in upcoming videos. 🥰 As for flowers, I planted more azaleas (a different variety from the first with smaller flowers), African daisies, burgundy-red garden cosmos, American mock vervain, beeblossom (and one chrysanthemum stem given to us by our neighbour!)

The owners want to keep the house in their family. Plus, it's a bit too small for us. However, we will likely continue to maintain it, at minimum, for the sake of maintaining our connection with our neighbors. ☺️

My daughter lived in Japan for 12 years (Kinoshita circus) I loved visiting. I think Japanese culture is fascinating and beautiful showing respect to each other and nature

We would like to take it with us if we can! As for our house, the landlords would like to keep it in their family, and it's a little small for us anyways. We wish we could take the view with us though, but we will try and match it in our next place!

Good luck with the Akiya hunt. We found ours in Yamaguchi. We’ve been to Shikoku multiple times for the 88 temple pilgrimage (by car) 😂 beautiful area

Not sure, but I assume the attention to care and detail (and the greenhouse setting) had something to do with it!

I'd stay where you are and keep fixing it up. It's effectively yours and practically free, with a nice view and some land. Magnificent retaining wall also.

I love how your intro reminded me of early 1970s movies/ something Tarentino would have done (the words to the right side and the music. Plus the kind of grainy look of the video) Yes, hot water is very nice! When I lived in California, I had an outdoor shower. Thankfully it had hot water, but I also had a 40' outdoor run to the shower. I do miss it! Really enjoy your vlogs, thanks! Oh, Happy Birthday, Pancake!
