Spray Painting a Motherboard | DISASTER or INGENIOUS

If you like to build computers then there is no way you have not thought about painting your motherboard to match your build. Not only do I paint the ENTIRE motherboard but we also painted the ram and CPU cooler. Now this could be a fantastic DIY PC MOD or it could be a disaster and we should never do this again! Ill let you decide.

DISCLAIMER: I do not recommend anyone paint their motherboards. It could run the risk of shortening the lifespan of the board. This was just for entertainment and scientific purposes. Make sure you watch next week when we kick this up a notch. 🤫
That paint is meant to reduce metal heat surfaces like bbq grills, vehicle exhaust headers, and other hot metal surfaces. It can hold your motherboard temps, no problem.

As long as the paint is not conductive you will have zero issues. Congrats on your video.

Will it add a layer of insulation meaning it would slightly store heat?

@@modar9524 I do believe so, that is why the CPU cooler wasn't able to dissipate the heat.

I still feel something so wrong with the idea of spray painting a motherboard. Honestly, I grit my teeth when you paint the shroud on a video card even tho there's technically nothing wrong with it.

Yeah this was just a board I had sitting around. I would not suggest this on a board that already looks good, but for a proprietary board this could help improve the design

You painted the contact area of the stock cooler, that's why it failed.
