Why does IRCC website say that there is no LICO yet lawyers/spouses ask for all kinds of financial information to prove one can provide for a sponsored spouse and you mention lack of sufficient funds as a basis upon which a sponsor can be deemed ineligible? To be a sponsor I thought you only need to show you are not getting social assistance and that you have to be able to provide for basic needs. Basic needs seems to provide too much latitude for rejecting sponsors or is there an IRCC internal checklist of finances they are looking for in a sponsor?
