My partner has the exact same problem. I'm Canadian, and we'll be marrying sometime next year, but since we're a gay couple and his parents despise homosexuality, he can never tell his parents.

The idea that they even feel comfortable going through the phone and to attempt to pressure someone to unlock their phone is batshit crazy.

hello sir watching the video was really helpful. i live in Bangladesh and 14th of February i got married and my wife she lives in canada as she is canadian citizenship holder. so as we are married couple we want to live together and we found out that i can apply for spouse visa which will allow me to get Canadian permanent residency for 3 years initially and after that i will be able to apply for citizenship as system works. now on 19 th of may we submitted our spouse visa application to cic in mississauga and we got confirmation that, they received our application and we been told to link our application to the online account. me question is when we were gathering all our relevant documents, we came across on the checklist there were some questions related to prove the relationship whether we are living together or not. so because we havent lived together yet so some question weren't relavent to our circumstances like do we own joint property or do we have joint utility account or do we have same address mantioned on our any forme of ID or driving licence or any insurance benefit which tells that we cach others spouse. we don't have nither of those documents because we are not togather, but you can ask me that why not insurance benefit you wife sponsored you, so she definitely has job and probably has work insurance benefit and she can include your name but the face is she works in to different company as a part timer and none of those companies allow employees to have any insurance benefit unless they work full time. so in that case we managed to get letters from both companies mantioning rhe main reason why she is not allowed to have benefit and they mantioned my name as her spouse on the letter too that i am her spouse. another point said on the chicklist that prove you helped each financially sending money to each other stuff. but we never helped each other financially because we never had to. i lived in london from 2009 to 2016 and finished my study to MBA and got back bangladesh in june 2016. since then i am unemployed. because we never lived to gather we never had to help each other financially. my wife is a nurse she works in hospital and hospice both part time job. so we concern is will it be a problem that we haven't supported each other financially? hope you understand my question and would like to answer me thanks for your time. btw for you better judgment just to mention few thing, we were in relationship from may 2015 and got married on 14th February 2017. she came to Bangladesh with her family to get the marriage thing done. our both family members and other relatives were there in our wedding ceremony and we do have all pictures and paperwork from different locations depending on the circumstances we had.
