Terrific video🏆 Nakamura is a legit fighter. He lost to the very best: Olympic gold medalists and world champions. His chain wrestling will give me a competitive advantage in the UFC. Knockout power too.

This dude beat Rei Higuchi in wrestling in 2018, who is a Rio silver medalist, 2022 world's gold medalist, 2023 asia games gold medalist, and 2023 world's silver. Always a step behind Takuto Otoguro though, but who isn't.

In MMA, you don't always need to be the best wrestler; in fact, in today's very evolved MMA, hardly any D1 or equivalent is a champ. You simply need to be very good in wrestling; but if your BJJ, Muay Thai/Kickboxing, take down defense, and general athleticism are among the very top 5... your shot at a belt is way better than a D1 guy whose focus is maintain to maintain that next level wrestling...

He is obviously a top of the good chain wrestler. But his striking is excellent too

@@kiabtoomlauj6249that’s not true. The most champions in history have a wrestling base and every champion has a good wrestling and uses it a good amount in their fights: pantoja, suga(but before it was aljo and it’s about to be Merab after he beats Suga), ilia wrestled josh emmet to neglect the power from Emmett, Islam is known for his wrestling, edwards has good wrestling and even before him usman was taking everyone down, ddp beat Strickland purely off ending the rounds with takedowns, pereira is definitely the outlier, and aspinall has elite wrestling and bjj

@@user-mb9yw4ir2i I said TODAY'S EVOLVED MMA. Look at the champs at the UFC (the biggest MMA organization in the world, with around 600 or so contracted fighters and DOZENS of very elite D1 wrestlers): ---- How many of the UFC's champs, men and woman from 125, to 135, to 145, to 155, to 170, to 185, to 205, and to HW.... are elite D1 wrestlers? Or folks with a Bronze, a Silver, and/or a Gold Medal from WORLD EVENTS or the OLYMPICS? ZERO. Back 15 to 25 years ago, yes, wrestlers could simply take a striker down and there's nothing the latter could do, since strikers HAD NOT even developed effective TAKE DOWN DEFENSE tactics, much less having learned to actually wrestle AGAINST elite wrestlers on a competitive manner. Back then, a pure BJJ specialist could also win... due to the lack of competitive skills from fighters from other backgrounds. NOT TODAY. Today, all elite MMA fighters.... especially at the CHAMP level.... are all very well rounded. The OVERWHELMING percentages of champs (at the UFC, at ONE, etc), again, are ELITE STRIKERS, NOT ELITE WRESTLERS. Look at how LEON EDWARDS, champ at UFC's 170.... a pure striker (who never learned to strike until he was 17 and was in gang fights all the time, so that's why his mom put him in the gym, to learn some martial arts & disciplines... and didn't learn to wrestler until he's already at the UFC... that's why he briefly came to AKA, where Khabib and Islam had landed briefly before, learning to do striking).... Leon did not need to be better at wrestling than elite D1 Colby or elite D2 Usman. He beat them both, 3 times out of 4 fights. Belal also is a much better wrestler than Leon. In pure undergraduate college wrestling, yes..... But does anyone believe Belal is better than Usman or Colby? Anyway.... GSP never learned to wrestle until he got to the MMA professional circuit, either. He defeated virtually all elite wrestlers he ever fought... out wrestled MOST of them, too, in MMA... ELITE WRESTLING STILL IS A GOOD TOOL to have in MMA. However, it is NOT the most powerful tool. ELITE STRIKING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TOOL.... in MMA. Don't take my word for it: CHECK THE STATS....... Again, in the year 2024 , the UFC ---- with 11 champs ---- has ZERO D1-based champ.... ZERO international wrestling medalists as champ.... and ZERO Olympic wrestling medalists as champ... Why? How? Again, because at this EVOLVED stage of MMA, even strikers are VERY GOOD wrestlers, very good at TDD, and very good BJJ practitioners... That means an elite D1 wrestler or a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Medalists in wrestling DOES NOT, currently, have an overwhelming edge over an elite striker.... as it was the case 15 to 25 or so years ago, in the earlier phases of the evolution of the sport of MMA... Today, in PURE WRESTLING MATCHES.... Colby Covington, Kamaru Usman, and Belal Muhammad would win 8 out of 10 times, against Leon Edwards.... But in MMA matches, Leon WILL BEAT Usman, Colby, and Belal in at least 6 out of 10 fights....

Unlike Tatsuro Tiara, who is mainly a superb BJJ guy --- who is at best average in the stand-up and average in wrestling ---- Rinya is actually a legit elite wrestler who also is approaching elite in his stand-up; more importantly, he fights more like Khamzat, Shavkat, and others who always go for the kill....because he realizes, at this stage among peers he's still fighting, he's at least as good as they are in the stand-up and he's way superior to them in both wrestling and BJJ.... very calculated & intelligent approach early on in his MMA career...
