I've never really ridden a Grizzly, but had plenty of sportsman experience over the past decade and it's pretty clear this video is sponsored by Polaris. Not a fair comparison at all.

the rear wheels only spin if the switch is in AWD if its in 2wd it will just spin the rear wheel

ok pause the video at 6:27 and look on the side of the sportsman you can see sportsman 850 EFI so either the 550 thing was a typo or their trying to make you think that the sportsman in this video is a 550

polaris is so much better than yamaha. polaris has a one of a kind transmition that beats any other tranny. Plus polaris' struts help the rear end suspension. and the polaris has a bigger seat for better confort and more passengers. And, you can have a lot of cargo from the Lock-and-Ride system only available by polaris. also, when you loose traction, it automaticlly locks in all 4 wheels. yamaha, you have to put it in 4x4 (which only powers 3 wheels) then lock the differential.

if you watch a polaris 550 vs yamaha 550 by deenimplant it says when you engage the diff lock on the griz the EPS cuts out well thats bullshit

Why wouldn't they put a Sportsman 400 against a Grizzly 450? They didn't show the part where the XP's control arm tabs break off the frame or the part where the ADC "plastic" bearings break and don't work or the part where you "quick" change the cvt belt, buried in the chassis. Truth in advertising?

this is a polaris ad video if you want to see the grizzly win watch a Yamaha ad video every company does this and they always win because its their video I have a sportsman 500 oh and for the people saying the only way they win is because they always use a bigger CC then the competition watch the sportsman 500 vs Honda foreman fair fight Polaris still wins

not a fair fight the spotmans a bigger quad bigger engine of course its going to pull more but put a grizzly 550 in there and see who wins

Ive had a Polaris they're not what you want in an ATV i would suggest a Yamaha or a Honda, any day of the week. Polaris are to fragile you will like it when you first get it then BAM you have got a lot of problems with it.

Seriously? Yamaha does have a 550 Grizzly. The Sportsman is nice, but the shootout is ridiculous. Not comparing apples to apples.

i bought a sportsman 400 ho, BIG MISTAKE, gear clash ,water in the drive system. went back to the dealer with the problems and he was a complete ass hole.the quad has 24 hours on it and133 miles. a 2013 $7000 waste of money.

I'm pretty sure Grizzly makes 550's too and i'm pretty sure the reason this isn't a fair fight is because the Grizzly is the better quad. I've never ridden a Sportsman but I love my Grizzly's. I tear through just about anything in 2wd even though mine is a 4x4 and it is only a little 350.
