A British Motoring success is what can only describe the Morgan motoring company - established in 1909 with the design and production of the three wheeler, then hand built Morgan went from strength to strength with the development of a 4 wheel version. Thames TV's 'Drive in' picks up the story.

Peter Morgan. What a fabulously plummy accent and pleasingly modulated voice. His voice sounds like the cars look :) Could have made a living in radio broadcast.
This is probably the only British car factory that didn't suffer work stoppage due to a strike during the 1970s...
This must've been around the time Soichiro Honda said that someday there'd only be four or five automakers in the world, "plus Morgan, of course."

"in the future there would be just half a dozen car companies - and Morgan"
In the background we see an engineer wheeling in the very early Morgan 1 wheeler due for restoration.

We have a 1965 4/4 and we love it!
Blimey Shaw that was some quick firing questions to Derrick in sales.
I like the bloke with the wheelbarrow in the background at the start of the video

That wheelbarrow chassis is STILL the basis of the modern models. Love the way he say to (paraphrase) " we were happy building them with three wheels, but struggled a bit with the idea of having 4 wheels" LOL!

Yes, just as the presenter mentions the word sophistication...
What happened to the English language??? These people speak the language in a way its a joy to listen them.
A wonderful video- I loved watching every minute.
Just watched the 'Troubleshooter' documentary from 1990 when they had a 12 year waiting list. So they were doing ok in the 70's. Good to see that today they are still going and have sorted their marketing problems.
And the factory still looks very much the same today!

Except now they have shorter hair . Less hippys 🤣🤣
Plus 8 £3375. The equivalent modern Morgan at least £50k. And there children is a practical example of inflation!
Morgan is the type of car brand who’ll give Doug DeMuro a heart attack when they invite him to check through their quirks and cool features of their factory

Yes... he would love the drive, laugh hysterically and then thrash it with a poor Doug score.

Doug DeMuro is pathetic - too much attention to interior, only general information about engine(s) and tells nothing about chassis and suspension.

Morgan is a type of car brand, Doug DeMoron retarded maggot fans are prohibited to talk about.
Still going strong 2021 🤟
I notice that seen outside the front of the factory, several cars appear, all British.
At 4:44 quick lick of paint on the Z section, all ready to rust away in a few years :-)

I'm sure anyone who'd daily-drive a Morgan in winter would know to protect it...

Lock her away until there's that one dry sunny day in July.
At 0:47 you can see one of the 3 wheeled chassis being pushed into the coach work shop.

1975... and not a power tool in sight.
This is really English, love it. Is it for real or a Monty Python sketch?
The Best!!
They liked a wife beater vest in the Morgan factory back then.

Keep them peeled
Derrick Day in sales comes of a bit stiff towards the end ;^}
In the 1970s the relationship between your income and the cost of buying one was balanced.......but today the cost of even the base level car is way ahead of average income . I remember having a heated discussion with Derrick Day and Peter Morgan over quality issues on my new Morgan I won in the end !
Are they still in production?
haha did bastabels accent drop for a second there ? 4:50 "up the front" .
Wow in 1975 2 year wait and zero to the Us market
How cooly archaic ha.
Pity they did not the route Donkervoort took.
Does anyone know the Morgan Bloke?,,,, tell him about ELECTRICITY ffs I have a press.... I'll make the panels....
