    It's definitely a good band when open. I like FM as well when you get the right conditions it's all cool. Thanks good dx and best 73

    That is some serious distance well done 👍 I haven't heard much on there since apart from FT8 of course. But I don't do it myself it's not my thing nothing against it though it's all cool. Have fun I hope you get more DX. 73.

    @@M0YKSHamRadio Absolutely! I’ve been looking at RS44 passes and if we can each get in around 2-3 degrees it’s possible. I took a screen shot of a pass and it had all of the UK within the footprint and I was maybe 2-3 degrees

    @@KC0ECQ-HamRadioEndeavors cool. I'm probably in with a better chance early as it comes up as I have a few obstructions to my west. But I have worked Canada a few times and some East USA stations on the south heading passes as well. I will check out the pass sched and see what's possible. 👍

    They should rename it to the whoodini band as it is very good at disappearing. Decent tonight though, a pleasant surprise

    So it's convention to give your grid square on 6M? I did not know that - but then again I only passed my Tech and General exams last weekend. 😁Still awaiting my callsign sadly, but thanks for the inspiration and helpful info on your page. Fascinating stuff. Yes it's that English guy near Portland again, hopefully on the air very very soon.

    Awesome result passing your exams well done . You will be loving it when you get your call sign. Yes it's a locator square and report on six meters. I forgot to give mine to the French station. 73 have fun

    Nice one 😁. It's been over 10 years since I had a QSO on 6m. It's a good band but hardly ever open. Let's hope it is open a bit more often this year. 73

    Hey nice! I was just looking for 6m signals last night. What about aurora propagation, where you aim north to bounce signals laterally, have you tried that? Aurora voice contacts sound pretty raspy, but there might be openings while conditions permit in your area.

  • @M0YKSHamRadio

    @M0YKSHamRadio

    Had a few raspy auroral QSO on 10 over the pole into Russia, Finland and Artic Circle Norway. They sometimes have a warble especially when it's high level Aurora. Most of the time it happens on 10m but occasionally on 20m. I remember hearing it back in the early 80s on CB radio, I worked amazing dx on a Avanti Sigma V. Hopefully it will be similar again. 73 tnx for watching and your QSOs 😁👍
