So about the PTSD if the soldiers looked as if they were already dead wouldn't they be mangled bodies reanimated and my theory is that at the labs the head scientist tried to bring his fellow comrades but the experiment turned wrong they terminated every subject and the head scientist still had a fear that there were some still alive at halloween he may have living paranoid leading to the hallucinations and the death of spooky

I both feel bad for her, but, thinks she kind of deserves some kind of afterlife punishment for all the slaughter and evils she was responsible for as a ghost. I don't want her in hell forever, but, she should not get off scott free for all the people she killed and led to their doom.

The "device" in the room with Spooky's father is the kingdom era artifact, not the Hellgate. The Hellgate, is a Hellgate, the "device" is the seal. That's why turning off the "device"(seal) but not closing the hellgate causes demons to be released from the mansion

I can add on to this theory spooky calls herself spooky because as we can see when she was shot she was shot in the stomach which means she probably didn't die immediately and in that time spooky's father probably tried to save her and in the time period of trying to save her while she was dying he probably called her her nickname that's probably the only name she remembers for herself because I don't believe that they would actually name their child spooky

I feel this DLC is a huge Homage to the Indie Game "Mad Father", primarily due to the doll monsters, the father performing experiments, the name of the mother, and the father's obsession with his daughter in order to keep her with them in some way or form: Aya's father wanted to turn her into a doll to preserve her youthful beauty and purity, while Spooky's father wanted to get his daughter back

Addendum: I know it was her father who shot Spooky, and he blamed it on the hobo See, my biggest question is this: How would a hobo, even a veteran hobo, acquire an M1 Garand w/ammo? You’d think that’d be something the cops would’ve asked

My dad has dealt with PTSD all my life and it is an adjustment. We never did fireworks, never whisper if he's asleep, along other things. It's scary when you're growing up but in glad my parents told me why I couldn't do those things, avoiding my dad having a violent reaction or a full on melt down/ break with reality.

I think the doll monsters are just vengeful spirits, trapped within the dolls, and the doll you carry gained a spirit of it’s own after Spooky was in it, that fears it’s original spirit. The Clown would have a crazy, ridiculous backstory like being an elder god or the manifestation of fear itself, considering how it does literally nothing to you.

I think the doll you carry has the father's spirit inside. This would explain all of the doll's reactions to spooky and monica's grave as well as why the doll shows you the father's nightmare from his point of view. This wouldn't make much sense unless it was him

But how bad the player character looks after been in a haunted laboratory mansion thing for quite a long time... I'm pretty sure he looks like a zombie

I honestly feel bad for Spooky. She may seem all cheery on the outside, but really, she has a tragic backstory. She died from her father being paranoid and she was then trapped in this mansion, not being able to return to the afterlife. Her dad just wanted to tell her goodbye, and that it was him who killed her (probably).

Her father wasn't exactly paranoid, she triggered his PTSD by lighting those fire crackers. There's a reason some places ask people not to light fire crackers or shoot fireworks near where veterans live.

I imagine our character going through the 3 paths there are in this game, releasing all the good spirits in the mansion and banishing the monsters, just to pass out on the ground they stood on and possibly die from exhaustion to then meet Spooky and her parents and they thank the protagonist

It's good to see an ending where the kid's spirit is able to find peace. Far too many games just use "evil kid" spirits, without any care.

I think the doll you’re carrying around throughout the last DLC actually houses the soul of Spooky’s father. It cries when we’re near Spooky and Monica’s grave, but no reaction with the corpse of Spooky’s father. But then before you release the father’s nightmare, you use the doll to do so, losing it in the process.

First, all guns, even WWI models, had a serial number; the serial number in this case would be a number that could be linked back to the manufacturer (not the factory, necessarily). The second piece of damning evidence would be the ballistic markings on the bullet if it got stuck in spooky or landed against the wooden floor. Ballistic markings are like the "finger print of a gun", every gun model, especially the M1 Garand have unique ballistic markings which can be traced. The last piece is that spooky's father would of had his finger prints on the gun: A vagrant would be spooked by the gun, so it's unlikely he would contaminate the prints by inspecting the rifle. These 3 things from the serial number, to the ballistic marking, to the finger prints, and his history as a veteran even could all be traced back to him and be used to arrest him. Realistically in all four cases the father of spooky would be looking at life behind bars, also, his neighbours would of heard the shots ring out. I'd hate to say it but the evidence never leaned in his favor to begin with.

I'd really suggest you play Devotion, it's a Taiwanese psychological horror game made by Red Candle Games, which is also the developer of Detention, sadly, its been banned on steam due to censorship, it has a lot of good jumpscares and an interesting, heartbreaking story, it's perfect for spooktober!

I wonder what the symbols translate on the ring in the ritual room because the symbols (WingDings font) when you use a crucifix on an Entity from DOORS translates: "One of the three architects marked by celestials assists you." (OneOfTheThreeArchitectsMarkedByCelestialsAssistsYou.)

I was watching this so I could understand spooky’s story without getting too scared, then an ad popped up mid way and I was jump-scared by it… ;-;

I wonder how long it’s been when Spooky became a ghost, since back from the gunshot. Maybe for a very long time cuz living in the Mansion, about her parents, the specimens, and the previous victims have entered the mansion way before the player(that’s us) have come to the challenge.

@@davisdf3064 And the saddest part is: if he ever tells the story about a erie demonic mansion covering a lab runned by people who where summoning evil monsters and ghost now being controlled by a dead little girl with a wasp injector knife and card board cut outs, probably nobody would believe him. 😅

4:35 - When it comes to using humour or jokes in SHB's videos it's practically unheard of. Because of it when he said this and zoomed on the doll's derp face I spat out all of the milk and cereal on the screen.

Couldn't the doll actually contain the father's spirit? That would explain why it cries when it sees Spooky and why it shows *that* nightmare.
