Spooked by Lights in the Dark Forest • Bailed on Rainy Tarp Camp at Night

I set up my tarp and settled down for the night, only to see lights moving around in the forest. I got spooked, packed up my camp in the dark and headed back to my car, where I spent the night under the milky way

I think my favorite aspect of your channel is that you're not afraid of showing trips that don't go perfectly. It's absolutely right to bail if you don't feel comfortable and it's great that you show that instead of suffering through a miserable night

She always takes risks. Unnecessary ones too. Some of the terrain she traverses is just bad choice for a solo camper. People who backpack tend to stay on well-established paths, not climb over jagged rock outcroppings for the scenic views. Her choice of places to pitch aren't the best either.

Good call on bugging out Claire! Most people are good intentioned but criminals drive too. Go with your gut feeling always and you will be stronger for it. I have spent months in the desert sleeping lightly because of who might be coming our way with bad intentions. Funny though I grew so used to sleeping in the open fresh air and looking up at the stars that it took weeks to get used to sleeping indoors!😅 Take care, stay safe and please carry some sort of protection. Thanks for taking us along😊

When you walk in the wild and up mountains, even during daylight hours, people say hello much more than in towns and cities but you can always sense that they are worried you're a danger to them in the middle of nowhere. Sad fact of life. It's good that Clare shows all aspects of a camp. Her vids are the best. 😊

Hi Claire, fair play to you for walking out of the woods in darkness with just a small light, with a dodgy ankle in wet weather. The filming of the stars was just amazing, well done.Pretty sure you would have been perfectly safe if you had stayed.probably just someone else having a camp under the stars, but totally understand why you left. You done the right thing.Probably would have felt uneasy all night.Hope the ankle is on the mend.best wishes.
