My academy is sponsored and pay is $35 an hour. Cant complain making $35 and hour and learning how to be a law enforcement officer.

That's good that they pay, typically you would be on a salary from the department tho.

In California you go through backgrounds already for self sponsored so I feel like there’s still some plus for when you do go through the hiring process with an agency.

That is true, just always remember the academies don't grant a clearance a department had to complete a background as well for that.

Does the police department come inside your house/home during the investigation phase and checks inside?

Yes some do they are call home visits!

Would using the GI Bill to self sponsor the police academy help?

So for sponsored academy, how much do does the department provide in terms of equipment vs what we have to buy out of pocket? There is a huge list of required items when I asked the local academy

This depends I have seen some agencies recently start passing some cost to their candidates, however typically you don't.

If someone goes through the Sponsored Police Program if you fail to complete the program, are you at all responsible to pay back any of it's costs? The only benefit I could see from being Self Sponsored, is the drive to complete it successfully since you are paying out of pocket. With the bad people on the streets having more rights than the police, I think the United States Government needs to rethink some of the current policies and allow Police to do what they worked so hard to accomplish through the hiring process and training. With all of the Illegal people here in this country it adds even more challenges to their job.

Most of the time you do not need to pay back academy cost if you do not finish. You will need to if you quit or transfer after the academy before you completed your required contract.

What are your thoughts and exposure to the rise of people holding the belief that they are Sovereign Citizens and aren't subject to current laws and regulations especially when it comes to driving an automobile? This could be an interesting topic for a future video. Dealing with these people, I think, should be incorporated into the Police training programs.

This is a yes and no answer. So yes you should be able to take a self sponsored academy in every state. However not every department will accept it. Some you must go through the department academy.
