No Shot Judd can sound like Grizz at all. Also, pretty sure it was said somewhere that those are all recording; he isn't actually talking yo you. Oh my Cod, I just realized watching this compilation that in Splatoon 1 & 2, Cuttlefish and Marie refers to Calamari Inkantation as "that heavenly melody" and DJ Octavio hates it because it is better than his music, but in Splatoon 3 it is Octavio who says "that heavenly melody" showing he is an absolutely fan of the Squid Sisters. That brought a tear to me eye 🥺

Calamari Inkantation is not actually a song per se from the Squid Sisters althought they sing it. It seems this song was created a long time ago and it was used to stop the wars between Inklings and Octarians/Octolings, since it seems the song kinda pacificates the ones that hear it, making them dance or to not focus and even can unbrainwash people (like Marina in Splatoon 1, as she was part of Octavio's army but got free when she heard the song and Callie in Splatoon 2). That's why Callie and Marie use it against Octavio in Splatoon 1 and 2 (and probably "the heavenly" part is an easter egg as Callie and Marie originaly were designed as Shrine Maidens) but as we saw in Splatoon 3, anyone can sing the song since this time it was Octavio the one how started it, being followed by Squid Sisters and the Clan Surimi. Also it seems is necessary that both Inklings and Octarians/Octolings to sing together Calamari Incantation "to summon the three lights"

If anyone is curious, after the Mr Grizz battle smallfry will actually sing Calamari Inkantation if you hang around and let him idle, it's extremely cute

@@_StarGutz_ depending on how many times you play splatoon 1's final boss stage, that could actually be true. he gets squidnapped in splatoon 1 once or alot depending on how many times you beat the final stage, he somehow gets to the deepsea metro in s2 octo expansion, he gets squidnapped by brainwashed agent 3, he gets snatched by the fuzzy ooze in s3 (how the hell did he even survive that?) and then gets his ink drained. im not counting refighting tartar and mr grizz, since it says those are memories

my personal opinions on each boss: splatoon 1: pretty hard and the mechanics for the boss are great splatoon 2: easy but last part is pretty cool, weird how the rainmaker was never used before that at all though octo expansion: not really a fight, but exciting and anxiety-inducing, ending with pearl was hype splatoon 3: first half was pretty good as a fight, but the dj octavio mega vaccum spaceship giant salmon fighting giant bear thing was by far the most creative ad exciting (imo) also i think that the splatoon 3 cutscenes were the best and were hilarious at times as well

i personally find the vaccum segment pretty unexciting, i dunno the first part was so great with the grizzco music remix but here it was, i dunno, pretty easy and the gameplay felt boring to me. Which is sad coz the context is incredible, i just didn't like the gameplay that much

While splatoon 1 and splatoon 3 have more climatic final bosses, I think the Octo Expansion final boss has to be my favorite. I just really love the character interactions and seeing Pearl & Marina shine with their own talents is really nice. The little details like Marina's laptop drawings and Peal and Cuttlefishes rapping is just so fun. Octo Expansion has to be the best storymode in my opinion

Honestly I think Splatoon 1's final boss was the hardest out of all of the final story bosses. There's so much coming at you, and your available space is running out. The later bosses are less chaotic and more creative imo. EDIT: apparently the final boss gets waaay harder if you upgrade a certain amount. That explains a lot haha! I heard about it in a speed run i watched of splatoon 1 story mode. It's why runners will avoid upgrading

I swear whenever I see someone talk about how they like big man it reminds me of how almost everyone on the stranger things fandom loves Eddie Munson. But I mean, Eddie has a reason to be likeable. Like his character and all, and I can understand that but still, for big man to me it's probably that one guy commented saying big man is just the character that it's just loveable for no reason. Seeing the first dj Octavio fight in 7 YEARS brings back so many memories That final killerwhail hallway was the best kind of intense,unfortunately 2 had a horrible but alright fight (the third/rainmaker phase I love-) and 3 is a pretty solid fight

my jaw dropping playing the final boss in splat 3 especially since it was my first Splatoon game. I've heard and seen the other boss fights pervious but DAMN the 3mix hit hard

wouldve been cool to see marina and pearl in the 3mix for all 3 splatoon games but im content with the newest & oldest idols cuz the music in the dlc will prob make up for it

Dj Octavio gone from Total ass, to an misunderstood hero, to an universal trouble maker In the span of three games. Easy the character with the most development I've seen in a Nintendo game since a long time.

The first game still hits. I still remember hitting the fist coming at you and the squid sisters theme song playing in the background. Nostalgic much.

We still waiting for the Marina and Pearl DLC of the splatoon 3

It's weird how unremarkable splatoon 2's base story mode is, I have a feeling they just made it basically the same thing as 1's story mode because they needed splatoon on switch. If octo expansion was the story mode we had at launch, I would've been REALLY impressed with how much they stepped it up from 1

Splatoon 2 story legit just finished out the plot with Callie and Marie as characters. That's why Splatoon 2's story was so lacking until Octo Expansion. Splatoon 1's was the best BOSS. It was canonically a hard challenge and just hard boss due to limited ground and projectiles OE's boss wasn't very hard but did give you that turf war anxiety along with that sweet fly octo fly jame telling you "HURRY OR WE'RE ALL DEAD" Splatoon 3 is an entirely different plot. It has nothing to do with the squid sisters nor the octarians. It's just about saving this world you've grown in and loved. The 3mix even reflects that. So honestly, this story is great. Splatoon 2's base story was just mid as hell until dlc.

They didn’t change the lyrics, Frye and Shiver just speak in a different dialect than Callie and Marie, which is also why Now or Never sounds different. This mimics how different areas of Japan have different dialects for japanese. Another example is how French and Canadian French are also spoken differently.

Octo Expansion is the best story mode of all 4

When I got to the final boss in 3 and calamari started playing I honestly was ready to cry lol it was such a moment

dj octavio redemtion arc smallfry ascending deep cut being the villains in the beginning cap cuttlefish turns into a chip old agent 3 is the captain mr grizz is the villain splatoon 3 story mode exceeded everyones expections

Seeing the octo expansion fight brings back the most nostalgia tbh, I remember staying up all night when octo expansion became playable and i had to fight that dumb statue 😭😭 octo expansion was awesome Also I love hearing the different versions of calamari inkantation

I wonder what the next idols will look like
