In Splat 1 they didn't care about the Octolings, but their performance of the Calamari Inkantation during the final boss had the side effect of releasing several Octolings from Octavio's brainwashing, including Marina, Agent 8, and Acht. Those Octolings along with Pearl fought racism.

​ @springfaux6991 Funny enough... when I saw it, It immediately reminded me of an idea nintendo had scrapped back in Splatoon 2's early development, originally Pearl was planned to be an octoling who so happened to be a DJ/singer much like Marina before it was replaced with the pearl we know and love. Then thinking back to all of Acht's dialogue bout her time in the metro and how she started working as a DJ, I was like "huh... why is this going somewhere?'. Lastly after seeing Acht's eye, reality hit like an anvil. - Same eye pattern as the scrapped idea - Works as a DJ and Singer - Both came from Octo Valley. Pratically... Nintendo pulled out a 180 by rising a scrapped idea from the dead and repurposed it into a completely new character in Acht/dedf1sh!

@@Dragonofthefrozeneclipse I doubt Acht/dedf1sh was originally made to be that concept but in Side Order they do kinda fit that concept, pretty cool theory! Also if you look at other octoling DJs in the series they share a lot of similarities (hairstyle & eyes) lol

I love how the animation and cutscenes just get better with every installment, shows how much they care about the series!

Spicy Calamari Inkantation and Fly Octo Fly will always be the best to me.

Spicy Calamari inkantation is top tier but fly octo fly is very close second! It secured my love for Off the Hook tbh! Deep cut doesn’t really do it for me tbh 😥

I've been playing with stick controls since the first game so I guess I'm use to it and it's easy for me vs. if I play with MC I'll have a hard time, the same can be said for MC players who are use to that, they'll have a harder time using stick controls. I could be wrong tho...

octo expansion boss was so perfectly designed it made fighting a boss into a color turf war so the time was limited to exactly 3 min whatever performance you show and so the music could perfectly synced with the battle time

I love how in spicy calamari inkantation you can hear city of color in some parts

Okay but Octo Expansion is definitely the BEST one to be released. Cool lore, fitting and nice music, difficult levels but definitely worth it and you got rewards for your gameplay. (Only downside was the toothpick)
