I think the scoring change was necessary - as the game gets older, the top players get better and the casual players peace out, so the percentage scores just got higher and higher. This feels less stressful for lapsed players to come back and check out. Plus, it always felt kinda weird that the big event in the co-op mode had such a competitive prize structure.

I agree that it shouldn't be top 5% but then again I had over 100+ matches that were above the intended score for the best reward. I personally think it should be fixed just not as low as they did it as this big run was by far the easiest yet and the scores were super high. I personally managed a 201 egg run for example. I know I'm in the top minority of salmon run players but even casuals were getting the score needed within a few matches of when they started which just shows its way too low.

@magicanimalboy1 No, it's not easy, i played like 50+ matches and it was just impossible to do something because of my teamates who was dying a lot and went killing themself even if there was eggs if front of them or just arond the spawn 😭 Just One match my team was VERY good but... Yeah, wave 3... 2 eliters + 1 pencil... Gg 😂

EDIT: The message below contains some mistakes I'm going to correct here. The top 20% result was 144 eggs which is well above the 135 needed for the gold egg reward and the top 50% result contained 116 eggs which isn't too far away so I can assume that approximately a third of players received the best reward which in my opinion is far too high. @@bluesquid1090 We know that about 19% of players achieved the top reward so I think that is too large a proportion and I think it should've been a lot less. These rewards are meant to feel valuable and should have a respective grind to them rather than feel rather free to most EVP players. I like the set numbers but since it's too low the rewards feel fairly meaningless and there is no flex to them anymore which was the whole purpose of the reward system in the first place.

Joe can actually take out other boss salmonids the key is to target a bunch in the same area and hope the eggs spawn on the side of Joe’s weak point. But if you don’t do that then yes Joe is a bulky boy.

Using Crab Tank against Joe is one of the most satisfying things to do in SR. It absolutely shreds its HP

Here's a tip for Joe: the weak point on his back always faces toward the last spot he attacked. So whenever your targeted, keep this in mind, don't panic, and try to position him so your teammates can attack his back as often as possible. Megalodontia is far more involved and aggressive than even Cohozuna, which brings about far more chaos when fighting him compared to the other Kings.

I haven’t died to Joe yet, and seeing DUDE die to him is literally how I imagined it to look like, with just seeing your player get *_FLUNG_* into the air like a pancake being flipped, and then getting eaten😅 Also, this is probably the hardest king salmonid to beat yet! Especially when dealing with him in a high tide on a small map, like Barnacle & Dime, and there’s no physical way to reach his weak point if he just covers like 95% of the map XD

This might be my favorite boss salmonid so far. Lots of engagement and depth with the player, unlike cohozuna who is just a giant HP sponge.

When I fought Joe the first time, we had 3 hydras. Needless to say, it did not go well…

I really hope they do a salmon run event were each wave is a king salmon. Cause theres three waves and three king salmon. Please😢😂

Quick tip: Kraken can kill flyfish by using the jump attack on the smallfry, can easily kill steelheads and can be used to deliver eggs Definetely one of the best salmon run specials, and also is super fun to just trigger a bunch of slamming lids

To be honest I'm not into the predetermined goals. If anything it's made me stress out harder trying to reach it than I would having no idea what I was aiming for.

I held my breath on trying number 4…. Oh I felt that pain!

Lol my first Joe kill was just like 7:50, but somehow we pulled through. It was definitely the closest king salmonid kill I've ever gotten.

I like the predetermination of the prices. Before I had zero interest to grind teammates for a good reward. Also if the super hardcore Salmon Run players (top 5%) grind the mark to the highest heights, most of the other players will be unmotivated to play with the knowledge that they will never get gold. For me it is a good carrot in front. The second Big Run was my only gold and I got lucky to got it with 141 eggs, after that the minimum for gold was 150 and 156. Was it more exciting without knowing? Yes, but the change is good.

6:20 I actually got a quad charger comp during a previous big run iirc, during the undertow spillway one, luckily I think 3 of the chargers were grizzco chargers

I don’t get it, this is definitely the easiest king by far for me. Only lost to it like 2 out of 8 times. First time was on high tide and we kicked it’s ass. Main strat is to lead it in a way where it’s back is turned to any eggs on the ground. And usually don’t have to throw many until like the last 30-40 seconds

​@JakoBpyroTech Is that true? I've had several times where just being at the edge or off the center of the danger zone gave me enough room to not die. If you move to the side still as you're being flung you can actually just walk away from the hitbox for being splat. It came to the point when dontia first released I was confused on why it was lethal because it was too easy to avoid being killed by it.

@@blackwell4701 I've since had an instance of this, being flung up but far enough from the middle to not die (I definitely didn't have I-frames, and was using a Snipewriter too, so no Dualie dodge rolls, either)

Ngl this big run felt pretty easy. First try got the gold amount of eggs, Grinded for 5 hours to get to eggxecutive 999 solo queue, i will say the boss actually felt easier than the rest
