Thanks, Samuel. I found out a couple of things I didn't know from watching this! Looking forward to hearing your take on the Brass and Percussion.

Hi Samuel, I’m with you on the oboe. Its sound reminds me of expressing humorous “curiosity” in a composition. Like, for instance, an animation of a seagull returning to her nest to find a baseball in with her other eggs. However! I did pair it with the flute in a serene composition used as a pedal note and it worked pretty well under the flute. Are you going to review the Pro version of Spitfire Orchestra also? Thanks for the videos! Gianni❤

Many thanks. I love your piece by the way. Have you noticed that there is nicer vibrato in the solo oboe in some of the shorter articulations, almost as if Spitfire have sampled two different players? This is a bit odd! May I ask what you do about panning? It sounds to me that the players have been recorded in position so panning is not really necessary. I write as an eighty year old retired orchestral violinist and I have spent over sixty years in the profession playing all sorts of music. From this perspective, I struggle with the legato articulations in this library and also lament the absence of the cor anglais samples. As a beginner in all of this, I find your tutorials very useful and straight to the point.

Thank you very much! What an honor that a professional orchestral musician sees value in my little channel ☺️ Cor anglais is in the pro version - which I don't own. I didn't notice the vibrato issue 🤔. Will have a closer listen as soon as I'm in the studio... I am not sure what you mean with the panning. All instruments are recorded in place - so, technically you should end up with a properly panned mix without further handling. This being said - I do use a stereo widener quite often on the strings - except the bases with I draw even a little more to the center. Is it that what you wanted to ask?

Oh Yes! Also, I started understanding and liking Oboes more. Although I have to say - I have a tendency to prefer english horn over oboe...

Would you chose this over Nucleus?

Hi. Hard to tell, as I don't own Nucleus. But I was pretty much in front of the exact same decision. Nucleus appears to be a great option (among very few) that covers a full orchestra with all sections and such. I went for BBCSO basically for two reasons: I knew BBCSO Discover and was really impressed with the free version of the library; Second, I really like the very classic symphonic sound of BBCSO. Nucleus sounds way more cinematic / big. But BBCSO sound to my ears closer to what I'm used to hear when I go to a classical concert -- if that makes sense. With Nucleus you get Solo Violin and Solo Cello - which is a huge thing imho. But to the best of my knowledge you don't get legatos in the woodwinds, e.g., and overall you get less articulations than with BBCSO. Nucleus sounds modern, cinematic and really great from what I hear in the demos. BBCSO sounds a bit more "classic" and symphonic to my ears. Nucleus runs in Kontakt (which you may or may not like depending on your preferences). BBCSO's dedicated plugin is actually really light weight and good on my system. Sorry for the "non-answer" - but I don't want to be dishonest. Maybe I should get in touch with Audio Imperia whether they can activate a trial license for a week or so...

Your answer is amazing!! And I appreciate you taking the time to explain. For my purpose which is gaming and film covers I think therefor Nucleus might be the better option, based on what you say that BBCSO is more classical. I also just bought Kontakt7 as part of Komplete 14 so that will fit right in as well, so yeah, your so called "non-answer" was more like a perfect answer and makes it easier for me to understand my choice better, thank you!:) @@SamuFL
