Let's create a Heroic Theme using the most basic/simplest orchestration techniques! I've seen a great number of scores that employ similar techniques, so I believe it's time for me to unveil the mystery of epic soundtracks and show you how they are created!

Great orchestration! It's also refreshing to see that your template doesn't have a separate track for each articulation. I particularly ditched that for sound variations (expression maps), but I still have a track for shorts and longs for each instrument. May I ask how do you make it work for you in terms of mixing and/or stems?
@cinematic.sound.sculptor
2 ай бұрын
I usually make Legato as a separate track. Other articulations will be on the same track. I find expression maps in programs like Logic Pro are more neat and easier to use. When I work with a huge amount of instruments, I prefer to just use the keys to switch articulations so my template looks more organized. It's also a personal preference how you wanna organize your tracks and what makes your workflow faster depending on the projects 😊
Very great tutorial, I like that it's detailed and the fact that sometimes, you don't just show how to do it but explain why one would do such a thing as well ! It would have been interesting if you had deconstructed the rythm for this kind of music (especially in the drums section) but there is plenty to learn from this video already ! Btw i noticed that on the french horn melody the note seems to fall before the beat but maybe it's just the DAW that gives this impression (I don't know I never used reaper and I can't tell by ear) or it's intentional to convey a certain feeling. Since everthing sits so well together I guess it's either of them ?
@cinematic.sound.sculptor
2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your feedback! I'll implement some details showing how the drum rhythm is constructed and etc. There's always so much to learn and it's never enough 😊 If the French horns fall or out of sync, I suggest just drag the notes and let them start playing before the beats. French horns have slower attack tho so that's probably why they would sound slower and laggy
Превосходно. 👍👍👍👍👍👍

I haven't seen many, if any, people using sonuscore's the orchestra! Which other libraries do you have and which do you prefer?
@cinematic.sound.sculptor

I own various libraries. Some libraries can take up too much GPU, so I prefer to combine heavy + small libraries, depending on the type of project and end result I want Everyone uses Spitfire but I do believe you can get decent sound with other alternatives out there. My main string library is Modern Scoring Strings. EastWest also has good libraries such as Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra
