Nice walkthrough sister and I agree with you 100% that you can create wonderful pieces with just 1 library if you're just a hobbyist but not if you're a serious composer who deals with publishers. Almost all the publishers I'm dealing with recommend doing crazy layering from different sample libraries and tons of dynamics to produce more realistic music out of the samples. Publishers mainly prefer live recorded instruments if possible, but they know that it's an expensive method for the average composer so they make sure that the music the composers make from samples is as realistic and beefy as possible. But all in all! Is it possible to produce a licensable piece of music with just 1 library? Maybe ! but I just didn't see it yet. Good stuff and thanks for sharing :)

Thanks so much for sharing! I totally agree with every point you mentioned☝️ indeed publishers nowadays are very picky about samples. I do mostly work on movie productions and produce scores for live recording when the production's budget is available 😊 Always, I find the sound more convincing and powerful when recording the players live!

Great video! 🙌 I really like the track and is very impressive it only uses one library 🤯I NEED it now! I have a question though, you show music sheets within Reaper, do you write your tracks there? or directly on the piano roll as you play? Or perhaps there's a way in Reaper to import MuseScore files instead of MIDI files? I got into ProTools because I thought there would be greater Sibelius compatibility and there isn't 🥲so that would be great to find in Reaper 😅

  • @cinematic.sound.sculptor

I haven't found any DAW with good compatibility with scoring programs. I usually export the scores from MuseScore as mid files, and then import into the DAW. However, Reaper's music sheets don't recognize the key signatures and rhythms very well. There might be a way to fix it but at that point it's not necessary. I'd like to discover a DAW that works well with any scoring software!

@@cinematic.sound.sculptor yeah I'm on the same boat 😅 I'd love to be able to either import the notation file or directly write the score in the DAW. I mean it's just one step less but it would be nice regardless 👌maybe a future update or so...

Hello there, loved what you did with this library and only one library. Do you use Musescore? Is it good? I don't have a score notation program. What screen monitor are you using? I like this size. I use Logic. Thanks again and I will watch and learned a lot from you.

I do use MuseScore. It's good but has its limitations. Sibelius is very good too. My screen monitor is from Predator. It's an old model, which can display 3440x1440 resolution. Logic is pretty powerful! I used to use Logic back when I had an iMac. Now using Reaper since I switched to PC.

@@berserker2551 Modern Scoring Brass and Modern Scoring Strings are good VSTs. Check which drive your Reaper is installed on? For slow loading, I suggest to use a faster NVME SSD drive. For crashes, it can be caused by lack of RAM or slow CPU. There can also be other factors such as overheating, incompatible windows system, etc. It's not necessary to use Reaper. Maybe try a different DAW such as Cubase
