I bought and downloaded the game yesterday and I have to say: It is so relaxing. The characters are quirky and unique - they have very well written dialogue. The animations of the characters and models are fantastic, they’re very smooth and almost make me forget that they’re not real. Crafting is fairly simplistic and not too overbearing - you can do everything at your own pace. So far I haven’t found a complaint yet with this game. EDIT: Be careful reading the replies they do contain slight spoilers.

@Anna Yes Anna, this is what gaming is also about, not just 100 new Call of Duty, which still sell somehow. It seems a lot of people forgot what games are about. Different styles are ok, I'm a gamer after all and play lots, horror being my favorites: but the market seem to just constantly try to go for one or two style according to what they think is popular. Hence, long live indie games..... saior of our minds/imagination.
Just finished this game. Please play it. It's so rewarding when you finish a spirit's questline and get them to the everdoor. It's emotional for me but not in a sobbing histerically way but more of a breakthrough moments here and there like when you realize that even the unpleasant people or spirits you encounter deserve compassion, closure and a listening ear. Not all of the spirits are likeable which I love because it's realistic. And Stella (your character) isn't perfect either and the game humanizes her little by little throughout. This is the perfect game for me ❤.

Even though it's just a game, it kind of felt like I achieved something somewhat tangible for myself, because it made me feel and express sadness and grief, which are emotions that I usually try to ignore or hide. It sounds silly, but I feel like I've grown a bit more as a person after this experience and might shed a few more tears in the future, if I feel sad, instead of suppressing my emotions. This game reminds me so much of a Ghibli film, mostly Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away. From the beginning I already had a sense of how it would end, but the journey is so beautiful. Even though it's definitely tear-jerking, it does leave you with a sense of peace. 10/10, will replay again when I get another box of tissues. 😭❤️
as someone who is almost done with my first save; get it if you can. this game is one of the most insanely beautiful things i've ever played. the art is beautiful. the designs are stunning. the story is... it's something else. i've never played a game that has such depth to it. every character has a unique struggle and path they take before you say goodbye to them. it all seems so natural and beautiful. some of the spirits are so well written it hurt immensely to say goodbye to them. there are a few i can think of off the top of my head. and there are many spirits that hit insanely close to home, especially as someone who has many people in my life that struggle with their mental health. this game is not one for the faint of heart, and there are quite a few sensitive topics, however they're handled with a lot of care. i've sobbed my way through a LOT of the stories. this game is amazing. if you're looking for a beautiful, emotional, and just downright enjoyable, get spiritfarer.
This game was the best experience I've had all year. I loved, I laughed, I cried my heart out. 10/10 from me

I love the fact that the main character is black by default! You don’t see that often! Usually the “base” or assumed character is a pale-skinned(usually assumed to be white, or sometimes if its anime-inspired a very light skinned asian). As if a pale-skinned character is more “universally relatable” which couldn’t be further from the truth.

ghost Fair enough, but consider this: I know it may seem small, but especially for young children/teens they notice these things, and will want to look like their fav heros and characters in games and tv shows. So its important that when they do see human characters they begin to see the beauty and uniqueness in features that resemble their own AND others as well. Games are just a small area that this plays out, but is a part of a larger problem: colorism, which has serious real life consequences.
I love the art and concept 🖤 So very cute, and a beautiful way to handle a death storyline 🖤

I got this game last year shortly after my grandmother died. The game was truly a breath of fresh air and really helped me move on. The music, the characters, the story, and the smooth mechanics all helped me better enjoy the game and see it as more than a piece art, I saw it as a way of comfort. If you haven't gotten it, you need a way to cope from the loss of a loved one, or just genuinely need a distraction then get this game. The story is told in a way that leaves you always enchanted and laughing from the interactions. The way the game plays is also a good reason to get it as it uses music, humor, and the many quests you can do as a way to keep you constantly moving. This game is something truly special. I lost my parents years ago and I thought I had dealt with it because I’d learned to live with some sense of normalcy, but bottling something up is not the same as dealing with it. This game made me realize that and it helped walk me through a healthy and mature acceptance of these things. More than years of therapy ever did. Maybe I just was finally ready or maybe it was because it took me by surprise or maybe because it was in an objective way. Maybe it was because I’m not intimidated by gaming like I am with trying to talk about my feelings. Either way this game is absolutely amazing especially if you’re dealing with loss. ❤

TBH all three of their games have something to do with death. In Jotun, the main character is a Viking who died ingloriously and has to earn her place in Valhalla through battle. Sundered deals a lot with mortality/immortality at the cost of corrupting your soul and body. The army was trying to save their civilization from dying using Eschaton tech, while the Eschatons are still alive but horribly mutated. Eshe also can't truly die thanks to the Trapezohedron, and the ending choices are: be corrupted and escape, or destroy the portal and die underground.
Thats it! Spiritfarer is officially going on my to-get list!

Beautiful story and artwork? I'll take it! The art style reminds me of some nostalgic children's illustration book.
This game looks so beautiful. Also really happy to see it's more of a management game than a platformer or other type of RPG.
Finally!!! I have been waiting for this since I saw the first trailer, it looks so pretty!
I'm ALREADY crying 😭 the chills I got omg
I was looking into getting this for me and my daughter to play. Then I saw the goodbye stuff....... I still wanna play it with her but damn she will be bawling her eyes out when she needs to say goodbye.

awww the fact that you will play it with your daughter is soooo wholesome it made me smile. but you know even in the lion king simba had to say goodbye not everything is so happy in this world but at least the game made their goodbye seem beautiful
I am sure this game will absolutely emotionally destroy me, and I am here for it.
Why do I cry when I watch the trailer. Such a beautiful game. Love love love.
