I honestly can't believe this lived up to the hype so well! I haven't been this excited for an album in years and they delivered everything I could want and more.

The final scream from Halcyon gave me goosebumps, Courtney is a metal goddess for sure.

Eternal Blue is so ethereal

Im usually a big fan of the heavier stuff but the softer tracks i think are my favorite. The summit and Eternal Blue are sooooo good

Totally agree....wasn't expecting it...but the Summit is the stand out track for me.

I 100% share your love and support of this beautiful band. They are something special and make us Western Canadian metal-heads proud. What a debut full length!

Absolutely! The western Canadian metal head brigade is all over this album! Something about the title track Eternal Blue just hits different. All the songs are fantastic that one just does me in for some reason.

This album lived up to the hype. Heard themes from a couple different places of their past discography, including the singles. But 1st and foremost, shout-out to that production & mix. Simply outstanding, and chilling. Honorable mention for AOTY personally. Love where they're going.

Album of the year without a doubt🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🔥🔥🔥. Every song is amazing. They can’t do no wrong. I’m seeing them in February next year. This will be my first Rock/Metal concert I’ve attended. Me and the wife are beyond excited 😊

The more I listen to Sun Killer, the more I imagine an Amy Lee collab. Courtney sounds like she was totally channeling early Evanescence Amy Lee and I am totally into it tbh. I'd *love* to hear Spiritbox cover some of the oldschool Evanescence with the Spiritbox sound 🤔

Halcyon probably has one of the best choruses I've ever heard

Your energy hits me just right. Show all the emotions. This album deserves all the emotions. It puts you on a whole different planet. So good.

This is one of my fav debut albums along with Bad Omens.

If you haven’t you need to listen to the first three songs again on Spotify or something, because the way the first three songs go into each other is magical. The way Hurt You goes into Yellowjacket made me jump. Lol 😂 I was honestly wondering how a band that has only done singles would do an album, but they structured it beautifully. Most modern metal albums I’ll get bored halfway through, but they paced it out in a way that kept you from getting uninterested.

Halcyon is propably my favorite from the album. Im a melo w***e so it immediately went straight into my soul. Such a beautiful piece of music. 44:12 this part is just perfect.

For me it's been THE album of the last 3-4 years. One of those ones that rarely comes along, it speaks to me all the way through, not a track I cant connect with, not single track I want to skip. I saw them live back in March. Even after 25 years of live gigs, that one went in to my top 5 all time best shows. Bordering on a religious experience

Wasn't able to watch along but I can say that I was absolutely jamming tf out at work to this and Eidola pretty much back to back. I had Sun Killer on for the first time on my drive to work and I couldn't help but to just bob my head and make faces. This album is just perfection. The first time I heard Yellowjacket, ngl I wasn't a huge fan but it's grown on me. Sun Killer and The Summit are definitely my top choices for this as I couldn't choose just one between the two. Oh I also like that the focus is the colour blue, and your hair is also blue uwu

These guys can do it all. Such a great album. It's going to be on repeat in my car until Rivers of Nihil drops next week but I know I'm going to be coming back to it for a long time. Really enjoying it so far.

Everybody's been talking about the hype, and I've seen some disappointed it didn't live up to the hype for them, so... I'm honestly glad I didn't pay much attention to the hype and that I only listened to two of the singles beforehand in full (Circle With Me and Secret Garden). Going into this album mostly blind was an absolute EXPERIENCE. Reminds me in places of some of my most favorite bands (namely Deftones and Gojira) while still driving in a unique lane of their own. 4.5/5, easily in my top five this year so far.

The figure in the hallway makes me think of the movie "Splice".

Glad to see you loved the album. I just listened to it today and I think was it so well produced. Perhaps a couple of tracks need to grow on me a little more though.

Thanks for the reactions! It 1000% lived up to the hype, each song was amazing. My personal favorite is We Live in a Strange World, it just sticks with me. (Also side note, yeah, the r/metalcore reddit needs to be avoided. So many mean gatekeepers there trying to flaunt their 'objective taste' in music.)

This album totally exceded my expectations, funny because i was actually looking forward to Wallflowers more but this is on another level.

Summit is by far the most flown and catharsis song of the album....best song to drive in a rainy forest and headbanging slowly.... And yellowjacket is just throw down everything...kill everyone in sight.... Worth a Spinning Roundhouse Kick İn the Face....I wouldn't be upset if it happend to me

Dan Braunstein, the original rhythym guitarist from Volumes produced this and a ton of other metal albums recently. They all sound soooo smooth and just perfect to the ear.

Eternal Blue (title track) damn near took me out too at that same point. Easily my top track from this one. I had trouble processing everything I felt too.

Great review, Rachelle! Courtney's a beauty on cleans and a beast on uncleans 😆 Just hoped that the Holy Roller that featured Ryo was the one in the album, but maybe that's just me 😅 On another note, have you litsened to Eidola's new album? Might wanna check it out if you haven't yet. Personally, my favorite is Mutual Fear ft. Jon Mess

So glad I have merch for this band. They're so fuckin good and this album slaps so hard. I love spiritbox and Courtney specifically for her mix of clean vocal heavy songs versus her very rough just "hit you in the face" kinda songs. And then there's songs like sun killer where it's just her beautifully done cleans all the way to the very end where it just fuckin slaps. Sooo good honestly, and yellowjacket is my fave (partially because of sam, I may be biased lol).

The real grower track for me on this album was "We Live In A Strange World", I remember having an odd initial impression and kind of lost it in the mix of the other great songs... But the more I heard it, the more I realized how brilliant it is. Pop radio would have a field day with that song if they were smart enough to find it 😂 It still maintains all of the metal hallmarks by the end of the track, and the clean guitar tones over her vocal riffing is absolutely tasteful. It's incredible that we have new Sleep Token coming so soon too 🤘

It's a great song! If it was any other vocalist people might not be as keen on it but it's so well executed with Courtney's nuance and Mike's style. It has like 4 different mood changes in it too. Hearing the bridge part on surround sound is awesome.

I agree, this song i couldn't get my head around it, buut i kept listening to it and now i love it and its been suck in my head!

I felt the same. Great reaction. How do you feel about Mike and courtney actually seeing this live as they told on their Q+A? If you knew you would have been even more nervous and hyped.

Now you must make metal songs with pop choruses to appear on commercial radio.

Honestly so many bands are releasing music this year that I feel like 2022 is going to be very underwhelming. Like 2021 is basically the post quarantine high where all the bands are just releasing music because they had all this time two but then next year because touring is back and all of these vans already released music in 2021 I just think that will make 2022 very underwhelming compared to 2021.

The title tracked fucked with me big time. I had to pause the album on my first listen and take a 15 minute break.
