I'm 39 and this fucking song took me back to 23 years old
This album is so unique and varied, glad I gave these guys a second chance. Obviously people are probably gonna like Violence and Pillow Grin the least because they're not heavy songs (in the traditional sense) but PIllow Grin is probably my favorite due to just how unique it is and the vocalist (don't know their name sorry) showing off their range. This album and "feel something new" have a weirdly calm vibe, while still being heavy, that I don't get from other metal albums and it really makes them stand out as a band. Glad you reacted to this when it came out.

Lmfao working backwards from their song “hourglass” is quite hilarious, that ep manifesto part 1 is the heaviest/angriest music I’ve ever heard. This was pure shock with all the cleans and stuff.

Barely anyone talks about Parasites and it’s a seriously underrated banger, it hits so hard and the lyrics basically are “don’t become a slave to the system, fight back”. The whole song just screams of power. The stabs are so good and using an EQ system with heightened bass thickens everything so much to the point where you feel everything in your bones. The others are good, but (choruses especially) they are too chill and clean and predictable. I love the rage and screaming. It hits after a few listens, trust me. Side note, does anyone have any recommendations for songs similar to Parasites because if I had to describe my taste, it would be that

Nexus is insane. The entire song, lyrically and musically, being an homage and referencing the second album multiple times, makes my skin cover in goosebumps every fucking time. Love this band to death, such an incredible album.

I never thought there could be a musical reconciliation of “grunge” and “metalcore” done in a tasteful way. You can tell Greg being a Layne Staley stand in for Jerry Cantrell had an effect. But on the other side of things, Keith is also going down the grunge metalcore wave. This is an interesting development in the genre when the popular music is cringe BMTH, Ronnie Radke and Bad Omens butt rock octane stuff, the metalcore purists went grunge.
This album is a masterpiece truly no skips. My favorite all time album!

I saw Nightlife live in Sacramento and they're a great act, and also nice guys. They're a bit heavier live than even this song, plus they brought a sax player.
