I watched one of your earlier videos about pentamelding and gathering in Dawntrail and was able to make 40+ million gil from selling materia! Thanks for showing me the way! And nice to know I can stop using better crowned pies :p

Nothing better than gatherers melded with Spellspeed and Piety ;)! thanks for the video. I bought stacks of skillspeed - whatever was cheapest on my server - before the expac hoping this would work again.

If only it made us gather faster!!

Prices will take a very big dip on Tuesday, when we see the first mass influx of level 100 characters with 12 fresh custom delivery turning and the accompanying orange scrips to spend. It was already possible for very motivated players to do two sets of turnins, but those were the hardcore .1%. By this week all of the "serious" crafter / gatherer players will be at 100 on the relevant jobs.

You're absolutely right about the Custom Deliveries, the prices won't last forever, but even at a drop off I think they'll still be stable around the 50k mark for most of July (if I had to speculate). WAIT WHAT!? When did removing materia become 100% success rate?? I completely missed this!

That's only on the old Materia. XI and XII have the 40% success rate.

@@samgofandango1298 Ah, that explains it. I've remelded all of my gear once since I did the "dummy" pentameld at 100 (before I got the grade 12s) and so everything I pulled out (twice) was grade 10 or lower.

I'm completely new to the crafter/gatherer job. I'm starting to accumulate ressources from the legendary nodes and I don't know if I'm supposed to sell it now (it barely sells for more than the regular ressources on my server), and I can't seem to find any recipes for them yet. Will the recipes drop at the same time as the raids and the price increase later?

Yes! Those items will have new uses with 7.05 on July 30th! Keep them for later, in my opinion. Because there is a *large* gap (a full month) between them coming out, and them getting some uses, I don't know exactly how much they'll sell for, but we can hold onto them and hope they go up if they get good uses. They will have uses in the new Savage crafted gear from the Master Recipe books in 7.05 though, at the very least!

When overmelding, why do the materia have to be odd numbered? New to gathering, thanks for the video!

Even numbered materia will become a 0% success chance after I believe the first overmeld (don't remember if it's 1st or 2nd). It's just how materia works because the even ones are the "higher level" each expansion, so overmelding only really works to the full pentameld with odd ones.

Forget making gil get me that materia for me :3

Yessss, it's a fantastic way to get yourself melded up for free

i made around 9 mil just from doing this for 6-9 hours and doing it while watching the boys made it easier for me + you can get extra by doing turn ins instead of folklore nodes i think since every in game day will get you 48 collectables from gathering assuming you only get 4 from each node and you need to do it for 3 in game days that will get you 144 collectables or 5k orange scrip then you can buy 9 or 10 grade xii Materia that's 1.8 mil gil if it sold for 180k and the extra you get from spirt bonding you can keep it for your self

since spiritbond isn't affected by quality, your best bet is to do both collectibles AND folklore spots, then try for ephemerals if you can. Because your goal is to gather multiple times, you should also aim to hit a GP of 930. That is the breakpoint for several +1/+2 integrity bonuses on these nodes. 900+ any perception/GP food with minimum +30 GP will work well. Use your GP on collectibles for the scrips. Pop a hi-cordial, go to the folklore spot, and don't spend ANY GP. Just gather. Once you've done that, you can spend up to 300GP on an ephemeral node with the goal of maximizing gathering attempts instead of quality. You'll regenerate all your GP by the time the next 2 hour window happens. It's very hectic and fast, but you can definitely hit all 3 kinds of spots.

See, from my testing the collectables weren't as high of spiritbond. It's still decent, but it felt about 70%-80% of the amount. I think the Star difficulty legendary nodes still add a bit more. I might do some tests to confirm! But yes absolutely still is a good strategy to do both, I occasionally do, but this is more of a casual easy method so I went with that. 930 GP breakpoint I completely forgot about though!

What skills do u use?

idk where else to ask this, but do you think i'll make lots of gil if i stack up on the newest crit materia? since patch 7.01 is coming out with the newest raids, and id think people will buy lots at that time?

Honestly, there may be a spike, but it won't be till 7.05 when the Savage releases on July 30th. It won't be nearly as high as these materia, but the 12s will probably spike at around the 30 to 50,000 range. It is still a very good way to make some Gil if you can farm out some of the combat materia. Both the level 12 and level 11s will be good

Just do some hunt trains and you get enough tokens for materia to keep yourself and sell on the market board.

man I'm still doing the story and really dont want to ruin that experience just to make money ,really hope its still a good method for when I finish story maybe in a week

It won't be as crazy as this, but they definitely made spiritbonding a bit harder so I think the prices will take a lot longer to fall off than normal. But IMO, enjoying the story is way more worth it! There are always ways to make gil, just gotta find em when you've got time!

Insane! I've been dabbling with a couple different methods do I've not made nearly that much!

Biggest obstacle for me is getting the gathering set to begin with T-T it’s prohibitively expensive on my server atm so I’m hoping I’ll be somehow able to craft it myself or save up to buy while this method is still relevant
