10:30 I think the reason why Laios is so scared because they won't be able to find Senshi's body if he die. Not like Falin's situation when they were sure to find her body in the dragon's stomach so they still could ressurect her. If they couldn't find Senshi's body, well... they couldn't ressurect him without his body (pardon my grammar)

Fun fact on the "Laios being autistic" front; his English VA, Damien Haas is autistic as well! He's said that the role is very personally important to him and that he relates a lot to Laios as a character. Honestly, Damien has very similar vibes to y'all, so if you don't already know him, you should check out some of the stuff he's done.

He wants the people he loves to not die of old age before his elvish as. Love that Marcille did to the Griffin what the Undine tried to do to her.

most of the delicious in dungeon fandom agree that laios is very much autistic-coded. I know a lot of autistic folks see themselves in his character as well and it's really is awesome to have a main character like that. A lot of people also see his sister Falin as neurodivergent in some way

^seconded^ as an autistic, the argument with Shuro felt like it came straight from my childhood 😅 there's are more details in the manga and further down the storyline that further cement these characteristics as well. Falin, to me, feels like the more traditionally feminine presentation of autism that almost gives off "manic pixie dream girl" on the surface, so it always irked me a bit the way Shuro was so infatuated with Falin for basically the same traits that he resented in Laios Fun fact: the English VA for Laios is Damien Haas, who is also openly autistic!

@Cl0udlight tbh it doesn't surprise me that toshiro likes falin for similar reasons he in ways dislikes but is also jealous of in laios. Even though falin and her brother have similarities I feel like the energy and general way they carry themselves feels different. Not saying you're doing this, but people seem to treat falin like she's just a female laios as if she's just his carbon copy and I don't like that at all. I think toshiro is just better able to take in her personality than laios's. Also, I very much see toshiro as a gruff straight man, of who I think many are more likely to like things in a woman that irritate them in their fellow man lmaooo

@macamoo12 I didn't realize people thought they were copy-pastes, they're so different in both the way they act and the way they're recieved that I wouldn't have even considered it. I think growing up behaving more like Laios than Falin (and dealing with the same judgements Laios does from others) just made me jealous of how much more comfortable people are with that more "quiet" presentation of autism

@@Cl0udlight I don't think there's really enough evidence to classify Falin as also being autistic. At the very least, she has a much milder case. I think it's more likely that she's not neurodivergent and just emulates some of Laios' traits.

@@macamoo12 Falin is able to consider whether his actions are disrespectful to others, but Laios cannot. This is the reason he is disliked. At the end of the story, Laios begins to make an effort to read other people's moods. Autism does not excuse disrespect. It is a flaw that should be reflected upon.
