Spindle Spotlight #12 - Scottish Dealgan Spindles
In this Spindle Spotlight I am featuring another one piece, perfectly portable, unique spindle that allows the spinner to wind a center pull ball as the single is spun. The Scottish spindle, Dealgan, Farsadh, or Fairsaid is a lot like spinning with a nostepinne. I do need to correct myself, this style is actually very easy to find, but the weights can vary even though the style itself is consistent.

This was great! Very clear instructions and visual too! What a relief to be able to see everything!😃
Thank you so much for this series. Hugely appreciated. Lots of information clearly demonstrated. It has helped me to decide which style of spindle i might like to try and review spinning techniques.
I have only used a dealgin made by an amateur woodworker and the wobble was very off putting. Good to see how a well balanced tool makes all the difference. I have been after one for a while; I hope more spindle makers offer them.
First time seeing that type of spindle in action. Looks like one I’d like to try eventually. Thanks for showing that one to us! harpingJanet
Love seeing how this spindle works, thanks!
This was interesting. Thanks!
Thank you ❤ I have one of these spindles, but never before figured out how to use it, so now o will give it a try again. Maybe you can also show us how to spin with other unusual spindles like the Basque and the Mayan one?

The basque style was the first one in the series! The Mayan will be in a couple weeks, I needed to add another (easier to obtain) one to the collection first.
