SPINAL TAP LIVE 1992 when things really do go wrong
Музыка
Performing 'The Majesty Of Rock' at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness Monday, 20 April 1992 at London's Wembley Stadium.
It took a while to get power to Christopher Guests guitar..leaving Michael McKean flapping in the wind in front of thousands and a few million watching live. This was not staged as you can see by McKeans increasing discomfort.. but fair play to him he got through it.

The genius of Spinal Tap is that even when shit legitimately goes wrong, people just expect it as part of the show, and it kills.
Gotta keep that drummer - He managed to stay alive to the end of the song!

@@daneenmurf1043 when i read stuff like that (u put), I google & fact check as stories get distorted over the decades. Anyway... it's close enough. Also turning up to that "auditions" (& bits of it on youtube) was one of The Banshees & one of The Go-Gos (they played the drums together), Mickey Dolenz from the Monkees (who could actually play the drums, perhaps not as well as who we hear playing then in the TV series & songs, but he could play). The other Monkees eventually learnt to play for real, too. Interesting that the Monkees & Spinal Tap have something in common - they both started as/in TV series. Also, I don't know why some people suggest that Spinal Tap aren't a real band. Ozzy Osbourne believed the "doco" movie 'This Is Spinal Tap' was a real documentary about a real band. True story!

Harry Shearers film and musical credits take up two pages ! Michael' has the same pissed look as he did in the movie, when something goes' wrong.
I enjoyed that more than 99% of the music I hear in this genre. There's a pulse in the new-born sun A beat in the heat of the noon There's a song as the day grows long And a tempo in the tides of the moon It's all around us and it's everywhere And it's deeper than royal blue And it feels so real you can feel the feeling And that's the majesty of rock The fantasy of roll The ticking of the clock The wailing of the soul The prisoner in the dock The digger in the hole We're in this together... and ever... In the shade of a jungle glade Or the rush of the crushing street On the plain, on the foamy main You can never escape from the beat It's in the mud and it's in your blood And it's conquest is complete And all that you can do is just surrender To the majesty of rock The pageantry of roll The crowing of the cock The running of the foal The shepherd with his flock The miner with his coal We're in this together... and ever... When we die, do we hunt the sky? Do we lurk in the murk of the seas? What then? Are we born again? Just to sit asking questions like these? I know, for I told me so And I'm sure each of you quite agrees The more it stays the same, the less it changes And that's the majesty of rock The mystery of roll The darning of the sock The scoring of the goal The farmer takes a wife The barber takes a pole We're in this together... and ever...

@bacongl, Tobias was a good brand of bass until Gibson acquired the brand and produce cheap versions under the Epiphone brand, which are made in China. Gibson ends up killing every brand of guitar they acquire. What's even more egregious about the Tobias Brand, is that Michael Tobias had to take Gibson to court to be able to use the letter T when he started another bass guitar company, MTD (Michael Tobias Design). Far superior bass guitars compared to anything that Gibson currently churns out.
The fact that they are good musicians is one of the main things that made that movie great, if it had been just actors miming it would have been funny but them really playing put it over the top!

The best sounding most talented fake rock band ever
This is the most "Spinal Tap" thing to ever happen to a band.
::applauds:: This is why I love youtube, so we can see past majestic, if you will, performances like these. Also - I see a lot of comments wondering who the drummer was. That's Ric Shrimpton, the twin brother of the late drummer Mick Shrimpton who appeared in "This Is Spinal Tap" and tragically died from spontaneous combustion. (Both are played by Ric Parnell, who was an established drummer by the time of the film, such as for Toni Basil's hit "Mickey". In the film Mick mentions having drummed for "Atomic Rooster", which was an actual band Parnell had been in).
Great performance. Really wish they had done the completed version of Nigel's "Lick My Love Pump" as an encore.
What is really epic is they still tour...on occasion. I saw some video where the 3 of them are so old they look like Peter, Paul & Mary onstage🤣 (I mean that in the utmost respect though, because I was an "opening act performer" for Peter, Paul & Mary at their final show in Portsmouth, NH in the mid 90's).🎶 To SEE "Tap" even NOW would be EPIC🎸🎶
When they took off their royal robes, and I saw Nigel, I thought "ABBA! In those clothes he looks like he's in ABBA!"
"do-re-mi-fa-sol-fa-mi-re-fa-mi-re-do-mi-re-do-ti-do" - music doesn't get much more inspired than that! brilliant!
