I started using those about a couple of months ago. And I have to say that they are incredible. Easy to fletch, they don’t break easily and the best of all, I’ve been able to improve my scores significantly. I love ‘em. Thanks for the review.

Whats the advantage of this vanes over conventional vanes like the blazers, x vane, plastifletch etc?

Mainly designed for recurve to take weight awake from the rear of the arrow and of course induce rotation. Typically compounded who do you spin wings use XS wings because they come in stiffer materials which are of course a bit better at handling impacts. But overall not overly useful for compound hence why basically everyone uses plastic vanes - more durable, technically easier to use, etc. Something like a blazer is probably too HP and stiff for a recurve but having said that Jake Kaminski runs AAE Pro Max vanes I think on x10s...

how much of a hassle is it to fix the vanes on either of these?

it's pretty easy. All it takes is something like a beiter tri liner to draw the lines and you just stick em on with the tape.

I'm giving kurly vanes a try now since they're the cheapest in europe. XS wings were ok i guess, but definatly not the marketing improvement they talk about.

I tried the kurlies, the flo orange to be exact. Flys just as awesome but the finish gets scratched really easily like a bingo scratch ticket. Not so durable though easily gets destroyed if you hit it, other than that it's awesome

Have used all you looked at. All good, but spin wings damage easily, Gaspro very low profile and not very forgiving. Spider vanes were very good and hardwearing but expensive. XS vanes good and seem to be a forerunner of the spider vanes. The Chinese brands seem the same, Also very good, hard wearing and cheap. Chinese for me at the moment.

I bought a chinese spin wing 2 inch bicaster brand..design and metallic color is quite beautiful, it is also thin unlike Decut andy which is quite thick and a bit heavy from other spin wing brands..I think to save money, cheap doesn't mean no good..
