Spin-out King! Tamiya Sandscorcher

Ойын-сауық

Need help getting this car under control. Is 2s still too much power…, not too much more than original nimh?

The cross rc was built by South Coast Hobbies., what a beautiful rig. The 2 speed is so much fun, the duallies help hook up incredible well. I added a few decals, and a 3/4 carpeted interior.
Running hw 1080 with reedy 16t 5-slot (thought about going to a 20t)
The scorcher is running a hw 1060, not sure of motor T (possibly oem). It’s so fast but the sand really slows it down; as well as the low clearance (belly dragger). Added 3/4 interior as well. Painted the plastic rims; but still not happy (too glossy).
The trailer is an xtra speed metal trailer, or similar knock off; bought used but unused;). It’s heavy and with slightly less than 3” tires, it tends to work more like a brake than a roller.

These old school Tamiya are still cooler than 90% of the new Rc stuff out there! Another banger

Really liked your video. I always wanted the sand scorcher as a kid. I got the XR311, and the sand scorcher and rough rider came out about a week later. Dhoh! This was a nice flash of yesteryear. 🙂👌👍

Hey mate, great vid of one of my favourite Tamiyas. By the look of the vid your front suspension might be a bit stiff and the rears a bit soft affecting the handling. Might be worth a bit of time suspension tuning.

@@MudderPutter Hey Lance, I've watched this a few times now in 4K (and I love it more and more. I need to get one now :D ) and the oversteer only kicks in when the rear suspension is virtually bottomed out and the rear tires start to rooster tail. Then the front lifts. If you have the same oil in both front and rear shocks then it's likely a firmer spring or even just thicker oil in the rears will force the nose down under acceleration and mostly fix this. Lighter damping oil and MAYBE lighter springs in the fronts to allow easier piston movement and rebound might help too. When the fronts are on the ground it steers fine :D

@@bashitrcadventuresaustrali3607 Too awesome brother.., really appreciate it! I’m going to balance the front and rear (fronts are stiffer as you mentioned).., and go from there. I believe the oils weights are different as well. Definitely grab one…, a lot of fun on just 2s. I’ve thrown a 3s and it’s just impossible to control;)) Be blessed brother👌
