I was taking to my mom and dad and they said it was cool if you let me take it home for the weekend. Show and tell it's so fun! I want one! Maybe I sell both of my brew buckets and get one?.?. You're the man! So jelly! Cheers Tyler!

Wow great in depth review. I liked right off the bat that spike sent proper cleaning materials and instructions for your first go. My experience with the chronical from brew tech was far more guesswork putting it together and vague cleaning instructions. Awesome idea with the cleaning tray for the trub dump, hadn’t thought of that. All and all it looks like an awesome piece of equipment. Looking forward to seeing some more vids on it! Cheers

I have the CF10. It has been great for me. Fermenting an imperial black india pale lager right now. I was concerned about it tipping over as well. I filled it up to 5 gallons, moved it to where I was going to ferment. Then filled it up the rest of the way. 11 gallons.

I think a hybrid of the ss brewtech and this spike would be a perfect conical. The ss brewtech has 4 legs, a better lid attachment design (latches), a pressure relief valve built into the 4" lid, and the chiller coil with a side mount, allowing you to use the 4" opening for adding ingredients or other attachments. The Spike has the 2" dump valve, and all connections are tri clover. SS brewtech has some threaded/nut connections like the sample port and relief valve in lid which I don't like. Also, the ss brewtech comes with a racking cane built into the racking valve, wheras it's an add on for the spike.

+Wrecked Brewery it's a pretty sweet setup they have, and the ability to customize to your liking. So far I haven't had any major issues, more of a learning curve thing. I think you'd be happy with it, cheers Matthew!

I believe you can move the ports around (lower the thermometer to the sampling port spot) in order to do 5 gallon batches. You would lose the sampling port but you could use the racking port in its place. Just something i saw somewhere, i dont have one so i can not confirm. Love the video!

Any thoughts on putting the butterfly value at the bottom of the conical against the conical and then put the curved tube on there? Wondering if that would lessen the amount of loss during racking or fermenting 5 gallon batches. Oh now that I look at it a bit more closely, it works on mine because I got the leg extensions but thank you for any insight.

I'm confused why they'd give you a boiling thermometer for the conical. Are they thinking people will transfer then cool? I'd rather have a super precise 32 - 100F thermometer if it must be analog, but I have a digital

You could rack the hot boiled wort to the conical for additional sterilization, then use the heating/cooling coil to chill.

From my point of view a conical fermenter is a new way to part the average homebrewer from his money. Two brewing buckets costs £20 - a conical fermenter costs £80 minimum. And what does it do that two buckets can’t do? It removes SOME of the sediment whereas syphoning beer from one bucket to another leaves ALL the sediment behind. It saves you time??? Only if you don’t take the cleaning and sanitizing into the equation. I’m going to stick to buckets and tubing and spend my hard-earned money on INGREDIENTS not TOYS.

Graham Bunton there’s a huge difference between a unitank stainless pressure capable type fermenter vs a bucket. Pressure fermentation. Carbonation. Yeast harvesting. O2 avoidance. The list is endless. Do buckets make for an inferior beer? No. But they also provide more places for error than a stainless unitank. There’s a reason pro breweries all use this design. Control. Repeatability. Reliability

Not impressed. If American cooker pressure cooker can make a product, without seals with metal to metal. These morons need to use their tech. Just my 2 cents.
