Reminds me of when god of war 3 came out, this one youtuber refused to buy upgrades the entire game. He even told his audience that he just wanted to see how far he could Get. Bitched the entire time but he still beat it with no upgrades

@@macaemeia146 Alright, so in Sophomore year of High school me and my friend were in a team for physics class in which we had to have an egg fall from a significant height without it breaking, so the whole idea is build a somewhat rigid structure around the egg to protect it, either being made of little wooden sticks, plastic straws, and such. Time eventually shortened for us since we met the day before its due, we built the structure around the egg, and tested it several times at home and it worked. We were so stressed out after some failures and stayed up late. Then the day we actually had to demonstrate our project it failed and we had to write an exactly 100 word report about our error to make up for our grade. That’s not mentioning the terrible internet we had to deal with and our struggle to upload our videos and documentation on Google Drive for our presentation. It’s more complex than how I explained it but trust me, it was hell.

I disagree with you that future evil Peter had a "good" or rational motive in wanting to make up for his past mistakes and bring back all of the people who were killed while he was playing hero. In fact, it showcases his greatest flaw: guilt. Peter can't let things go. He never truly uses his past failures as learning experiences to strengthen him for the future, he only views them negatively and puts more and more pressure on himself. That kind of obsession can lead you to insanity, as shown in this game. It's important to let go of the past (and by let go, I mean Peter needs to forgive himself and recognize he's not perfect and try to do better next time, not that he should not give a shit about Gwen or Uncle Ben) and look towards the future. Peter doesn't do this and that's what makes him such a tragic character beneath his lighthearted and quippy exterior, and it's why seeing Peter happy every once and a while feels like such a treat to behold. We all have bad experiences and times we screw up, but those experiences shape into who we are. How do you grow without ever messing up a few times? Creating an unrealistic Utopia where nothing bad ever happens to you just shows how emotionally immature Peter COULD be with a couple wrong turns, but it's a genius concept for the character himself. I hope that made some sense

It's a shame Beenox dropped the ball so much with TASM and TASM 2. I Blame Activision for that since Shattered Dimensions and this are so good. They were really passionate about these projects. I wish they could contribute in some form to the new Spider Man from Isomniac,because I'm sure they can do great things with a bigger budget and more time, not just shitty movie licensed games.

Shitty or not they put in much care into the TASM games and offered much comic book craziness and wackiness that SD and Edge of Time had. It was clear was the plot was for both games and they’re pretty memorable events that happen in both games.

Oh, thank god. Here I thought I was the only one who actually LOVES this game, and didn't regret buying it. ..But, I will state that I feel Edge of Time would've made a better Movie, or Comic Book than a game.

judging by how long 2099 can fall before hitting the ground in SD and EOT I would imagine it impossible to do an open world game in that setting, if only because of the sheer amount of disc space that would require if you want at least adequate graphics. Maybe you could have a game where Spider-Man 2099 is transported to an open world present day New York but otherwise I don't see how that could work for logistical reasons.

This is just my opinion but I think edge of time is better than shattered dimensions for a couple reasons 1. The story is engaging 2.the pacing is exquisite And 3. Christoper Daniel Barnes and josh Keaton this game is like playing as 2 of the best spiderman cartoons ever which is why I put spiderman 2099 in the Ben Reilly suit and I keep Peter in his suit for symbolism

There's something ironic about how Spider-Man noir and Ultimate Spider-Man aren't in this game, and yet they're voiced by the actors. It's like they're here and aren't here at the same time.

I really feel like they were actually trying to start doing different Spider-Man games focused on specific ones. It just feels like they wanted to make a Spider-Man 2099 game but Activision probably said that wouldn't work, that people wouldn't dig the futuristic style and requested regular Spider-Man to be in the focus, so they made it about time travel, which fit very well, but you can tell the real focus is on the future stuff, AKA Spider-Man 2099 territory. You can spot that a lot once you realize pretty much all villains are some sort of rehash of recent games: Doc Ock, Venom, Black Cat. When they didn't know what to do for a big final boss, they simply repeated a mash up of Symbiote Doc Ock, without the best part which was how scary it was. The only real future stuff they got to make was the cliché "hero became the villain" twist, which smells like quite a studio interference to have everything tied into Peter Parker. Basically they couldn't have Venom 2099 because that's a completely different version, the same with Doc Ock and Black Cat, so it all turned into a Peter Parker first story with Miguel O'Hara in second. It's a shame, I'd love to actually know more about 2099 universe, specially if it was some cyberpunk style like the Unlimited animated series.

7:49 well, Miguel's ability can be seen as simply just 2099 tech in his suit, so just future tech that does not exist currently.

Then you realize that the only reason Anti Venom "killed" Spider Man was because he drained his powers, considering Peter still knocked him out before being saved. Damn, Spider Man is badass in this one.

I really like this game. It got the most cinematic and engaging story and Music score that goes togheter. As you said it´s a really rushed story and there are´t many bosses but it´s still a fun and enjoyable game.

Hi, just discovered this series due to _The Algorithm_ and have just binged through it. Shit's dope. But I _did_ wanna tell you: The clips you use are _totally, absolutely, 100 percent_ entertainment/commentary/education and therefore completely fine under Fair Use. ... ...It's the music choices that'll getcha in trouble. No matter how much you say you don't own it.

The monster Ock fight in Spider-man on the ps1 scared the shit out of me as a kid and I remember years later playing EOT when I came out and my jaw hitting the floor when I saw atrocity, I can without a doubt agree that it is the best boss encounter in a spidey game so nerves racking and intense, especially the bit where you have to pull down the blast shields over the windows in time.

I love the dynamic between Peter and Miguel in this game. Just like…getting to hear Josh Keaton and Christopher Daniel Barnes just bicker back and forth is so entertaining, and it’s one of the reasons I keep coming back to this game in one form or another.

Philybeez apparently it’s made out of unstable molecules, the same substance that the fantastic four’s costumes are made of, and the same substance that Spider-Man’s costume was made of when he was part of the Future Foundation, and he saw through that just fine. For some reason.

8:27 that show didn't really deal with time travel but I loved that and might watch it again after Shameless and new episodes of king Julian

I remember owning this game on the wii and it was my first Spider-Man game I have ever played and recently I got it on Xbox 360 and the story is phenomenal and it’s one of the best Spider-Man games ever made and it’s in my top 3 for best Spider-Man games.

12:00 That boss is actually a copy of Monster Ock from Spider-Man PS1 and even a spiritual succesor to it. I mean, come on, in the PS1 game, Dock Ock gets the Carnage symbiote and turns into a monster. In this game, Dock Ock forms up with Anti-Venom. THEY PRETTY MUCH STOLE THE IDEA!!
