If the rumors are true about test audiences seeing it and the kids being traumatized (for lack of a better term) by it, then I can't say I blame Sam for giving us the version we saw, but my curiosity is eating away at me like a symbiote whenever somebody reminds me of the scrapped version. I'm really curious how it looked!

Yh I hope they do an Actual Extended Editors Cut to where they have all Original Scenes/Footage they have in there with Including being most Noticeable the Original Eddie Death to l, that would be a GOAT-Move to pull and to see for the Big-Screens.

It sucks but understandable why Sam has mentioned he won't do a directors cut of Spider-Man 3. Spider-Man 3 was really a frustrating time for him whenever he looks back and almost wants nothing to do with that film again. To him he still thinks that Spider-Man fans still hate him over this film because of the insane amount of backlash/hate he originally got. He wants to now just move forward with his life and do new projects. I hope one day Sony lets him do Spider-Man 4 with the original cast and he can finally find peace with Spider-Man 3.

I dont understand why people hate sm3. Sure its not the masterpiece sm3 was but back then I was pumped to see that movie. I always loved it, especially since I was and am a huge fan of Venom. It was all there. Action. Emotions. Drama. Love. Hate. Fear. Etc. Not a bad movie imho.

We were robbed, I don't want Spider-Man 4 or The Amazing Spider-Man 3, I want the director's cut of this movie, I need it, we all need it, especially Sam Raimi who blames himself for the movie's outcome, when he was one of the last people to have a word in the production... I really hope that for the 20th anniversary of SM3, Avi Arad will finally realize what an asshole he is and order a prodution team to make SM3 director's cut, say what you want about Snyder or the toxic fanbase but they managed to do the impossible and bully Warner Bros. into pouring 70 million dollars into the director's cut, we need something like that to happen...

In an ending similar to what we got,peter pulled an skeleton instead of eddie,then bombed the symbiote and realized that he could have ended like eddie

I'll have to admit. If I'm being honest I'm happy with final version. The venom death, sandman and Peter talk. But it would be nice to see more Eddie's life, to see his more human side , relationship with Gwen. Symbiote spidey fighting thugs that would be badass. Venom searching Peter's apartment that would make it much more personal. It would add to this conflict a lot like in the First appearance of venom in comic books. It is definitely nice to see how it could look. Sic video 👌

Exactly, the final version of the movie is great in those moments you mention but the rest of the movie i wish to see more because the movie still incomplete and without some moments that we can say wow 😮

They probably cut 10:52 out because it wouldn’t really make sense for Peter to be in his everyday clothing when going to harrys but I actually liked take of the line better here, it would’ve been even more hype to see the Red Suit back in the swing to the final battle, if they could incorporate it back then I would prefer this scene

@@ericdxfan511true, it could be that but I’m pretty sure the idea was dropped early on, the only confirmed remnant of that ending was the deleted scene of MJ going to Harry’s before the finale, maybe this scene was Peter asking help for Gwen but it still doesn’t really explain him having no suit but I guess somewhere at sony we have the answers that we will probably never get

There’s a few of these in this video which I either forgot about or didn’t even knew existed. Like the one at 1:52, it would’ve been nice to have that as it’s a parallel to having Spider-Man’s photos in Spider-Man 2, most of these should have been kept. But depending on the Uncle Ben flashback scene’s context, it would be cool if they used it in Spider-Man 4 (if it’s made) if it fits the context as then Uncle Ben would be in all 4 Movies if a 4th one is made.

Unless I missed it in the video, I think you forgot one tiny little scene, it’s a different shot of the slow dance with gwen used in a trailer and in that version, peter gets slapped after the dance (probably by MJ)

The suit combines more in the night,pretty obvious but i like the contrast of the day and peter black suit

There are a few scenes I could definitely see fitting in the actual film, but it's understandable why they weren't. Unfortunately a lot of times, good scenes or shots end up on cutting room floor, rather it's because of timing, pacing, framing, acting, direction, writing, etc. For example, symbiote Peter showing up lied down at Harry's place, that would've involved Harry's note on Peter's bed scene, and even if you could mash the lied down scene with the final cut, they would have to rethink and reshoot a bunch of stuff, so they would have to call everyone back on set for another week of a series of reshoots, and they'd have to make it be worth it, because it's very minor details on film that take MILLIONS of the bugdet, and even then they might end up getting rejected by executives and all that extra time and money spent were literally for nothing, so that's why that happens so much. We also have to consider this is Sony Pictures. Amy Pascal and Avi Arad are the worst when it's about negotiating anything so if there's anything you need to change, too bad for you, they don't care, they'll drag you through the whole thing and blame you for everything.

No they wouldn't. The version of Peter/Harry used in the Theatrical WAS the reshoot while the Editor's Cut is the original scene (and was included in the novelization).

Totally. Eddie apparently goes to his apartment. In the original movie Peter goes straight home and showers and finds out MJ has been kidnapped. They would've totally seen eachother. So realistically one or 2 days pass peter goes to make amends with everyone, MJ, Harry (unsuccessfully) so MJ gives him the whole speech of forgiveness later, and finally Gwen. Peter then asks Gwen if she knows where Eddie is to ask him for forgiveness as well. She says no meanwhile Eddie's at his apartment sees photos of MJ or something. Now where I get confused is that apparently Eddie kidnaps Gwen not MJ. That's why MJ is the one to pep talk Harry into helping Peter save Gwen I guess. No idea but not having MJ as the girl in distress for once would've been something new and intriguing.

@@aldairreynoso2564 The early script had Gwen be the damsel, then it was scrapped into late in production when Raimi realized Peter and Harry had no reason to fight Venom, so MJ was chosen again. Eddie originally met Marko in the daytime, which was filmed. The MJ and Harry scene is tight in the pacing. MJ goes to Harry's house after the scene when Peter's outside contemplating a visit. MJ getting a Taxi and getting attacked by Eddie is meant to be when she leaves Harry's house to head home or to Peter's place.

The Donner Cut of Superman 2 was released 26 years after the release of the theatrical cut of Superman 2. I agree that it's unlikely that a Raimi Cut or extended cut will come out, but there's nothing wrong with having faith.

I've always believed Spider-Man 3 Venom was far better than Tom Hardy. From games to comics, I feel Venom should look scary, and Spider-Man 3 venom looks more convincing for how it bonds to its host. For some reason, Tom Hardy's venom design doesn't sell me. The body may look accurate, but the face looks goofy. I'd always wanted a standalone Venom film, but when it came out, I realized I didn't want to see the whole thing. Maybe how they made the face. It just looks silly to me.

The true version of the movie could've easily been 2 hrs & 45 min long.

The deleted scene makes it look like Peter doesn't give a single SHIT that Harry died lol.

@@rydertot Some scenes: Harry's extended transformation into the new goblin, Spider-Man creating a web in the air to catch the debris caused by the crane, the symbiote hiding in Peter's closet and leaving a piece of it behind in one of his shoes, Peter reveals his identity to Sandman in the subway fight, Peter has a small talk with Gwen Stacy about his speech to hand over the key to the city, in the testing ground that turns Flint into Sandman is explained by the scientists that it was an aerospace quest operation (the company that the green goblin tried to destroy), Peter sees himself in the mirror as Venom and takes off his black suit (the description of Venom is like the appearance of the original Venom animatronic) scene is longer as Peter has a hard time taking off his suit, Flint taking money to Dr Wallace to cure Penny, Eddie goes to Gwen's house to explain everything to her but Captain Stacy threatens him, Dr Connors experiments with the piece of symbiote with two mice (the infected one brutally kills his partner), Eddie drunk in a bar after Peter ruins his career, extra scenes of the black suit, MJ realizes the influence of the suit on Peter at the Jazz club, Eddie In Peter's apartment (perhaps the scene of a spider being crushed occurs there), Flint visits his family and then meets Eddie with the symbiote explaining how he found it (in the novel it is explained that the symbiote amplified the spider sense of Peter to detect things that he did not feel before, thus he found Sandman in his second fight since Peter, after waking up face down, the symbiote manipulates him to go for Flint) and offers to kill Spider-Man, Dr Wallace talks to the captain Stacy on how to stop Sandman, a more extended fight between Spider-Man and Sandman in his giant form, Harry and Venom have a brief confrontation (Harry with his sky stick burns the alien), Sandman is about to kill Spiderman but his The family intervenes and Penny tells her father that he cannot be cured and that he wants him by his side and asks Spider-Man to forgive him and he accepts and at that moment Venom arrives and Flint and his family leave, Harry's death is different since he arrives on his sky stick and puts himself in the middle between Peter and Venom since the symbiote was going to stab Peter with the sharp bar and Venom flies him away, the original death of Eddie Brock, at Harry Peter's funeral and Gwen make passes, Spider-Man makes one last swing through the city with MJ at his side (that written in the last line of the novelization)

As far as is known, SM1 and SM2 did not have productions as complex as SM3, so there are not many deleted scenes from those films.

@lovepreetgames That's my point. He could've given us the longest version that was close to 2h 40m (in March 2007, SM3 was listed with a 2h 36m runtime) , but he chose not to because in his opinion, the movie is better shorter. He dropped the ball

@lovepreetgames Somebody emailed him shortly after the Editor's Cut leaked on Amazon and his response to an Extended Cut was that the movie in his opinion is better shorter. He also denied there being a 3 Hour Cut of the movie (or a Raimi Cut) and that the longest version of the film was closer to 160 Minutes (which goes back to the movie being listed with a 156 Minute runtime back in March 2007)

Knowing Sam Raimi has a past of using skeletons a tons of times, it was just a design choice and nothing more. The man loves his skeletons and monsters. But in terms of logic it makes no sense since the suit is a symbiote and not a parasite. A parasite usually kills the host eventually, but a symbiote is beneficial on both ends. So yeah strictly a design choice I'd say.

@@rixen8226 as far as I remember, the original plan was that the symbiote would dissolve Eddie's body leaving only the skeleton behind, it was supposed to show that Eddie was dead a long time ago and the symbiote adapted Eddie's voice to make Peter think he was still talking to Eddie, the explanation was that Eddie wasn't a good/strong enough of a host for the symbiote's needs

With all the meterial available they could have made two good movies: Spiderman 3 with sandman and Spiderman 4 with Venom or viceversa. They could've also develop Harry's story and end it in the fourth movie as they did in the third.
