Drugging Miguel trapped him in more ways than just addiction. If Miguel ever stopped taking the drug his boss would assume he was buying off the black market and have him arrested, so even after he cured his addiction Miguel still was under Alchemax’s employ for some time

I like how so many people are confused as to why Miguel has fangs, thinking he's part vampire or something. Do people not know that spiders have fangs? How else do you think they bite you? 😂

First time I was aware of Spider-Man 2099 it was way back as an unlockable costume for the PS1 Spider-Man game. Finding out more about him, I thought his power base was so cool and different with the talons and venom fangs. Spider-Man provided the basis of a spider enhanced being (proportionate strength, speed, reflexes, agility etc.) but 2099 really opened up the question "How else could spider powers manifest"?

@@25thVictor Ah Spider-Man Unlimited! The other Spider-Man role Rino Romano had next to the old PS1 game. Actually Miguel's theme for the movie strongly reminded me of the Spider-Man Unlimited intro!

The original Spiderman actually made organic webbing. It wasn't until the variations that web shooters were made. That's why in the Sam Ramsey spider man when Peter Parker stopped being able to shoot webs, he didn't just go home and get more web cartridges..

Ynow if you had miguel do intense muscle training with breaks to down insanely high protein meals every hour or so he’d be able to become the most ripped bodybuilder the world’s ever seen in like a week. Brodie has a healing factor that repairs bullet wounds in hours and a body that doesn’t generate the toxin that creates fatigue, he could literally see the gains from a bicep workout before he even gets to legs

Picked up the first issue at a goodwill as kid. 2099 Spidey is awesome

I love Spidey 2099--i have all the original 2099 comics from when they first came out. Spidey 2099 is one of the 2099 characters that truly worked--the other being Doom 2099. I like Spidey 2099's venomous sting and his organic web shooters and Miguel is a well rounded character that stands on his own apart from Peter Parker.

Id love to see an animated series for Miguel the way we used to get like in the 2000s.

I wish someone would make a full game with Spiderman 2099. I know we already have Marvel Spiderman and Miles Morales, and I know there's already a game with 4 different versions of Spiderman (Original, Ultimate, Noir and 2099), but 2099's abilities and weakness would give players something new.

Tbf Peter's mental and emotional state is a wreck and his humor is a coping mechanism- It's been shown he can't perceive his Spider Sense if emotionally distracted, Black Cat has flirted with him then leg-swiped him without triggering it (virgin L /j) Miguel can't turn his off. It's just his actual senses, even if you close your eyes you're still seeing your eyelids and all that.

Every Miguel hater should see this video. They say he is much weaker than peter parker, but his strength is pretty much equal to peter's or maybe even more. Also he has much faster reflexes which is an alternative to spider senses, in fact his white suit has sensors which exactly work as spider sense. Also his healing factor is more effective than peter he can actually heal gun wounds faster. So he is as strong as peter parker or maybe even stronger than him

I think the worst part is that Stone had mentioned to Miguel mother that there was no rapture at all in the drink. The "withdrawal symptoms" he was going through he thought was due to rapture, was his body changing from the experiment.

Miguel does not have Telepathic powers, in Edge of Time, how Miguel and Peter were communicating telepathically was through a chronal-link granted from the DNA Peter archived at that time.

Yes yes and yes Spider Man 2099 is one of my favorite Spider Men along with Miles Morales ! This video puts the biggest smile on my face plus I can’t wait to see both of my favorite Spider Men in across the Spider Verse.

You're thinking of Infinite Spider-Man. Or was it Spider-Man Infinite? Idk been a while, but the costume is incredibly similar. Difference is, it's still Peter, he just got sent to a whole different planet. I loved those Venom and Carnage designs, sad the series was cancelled and mostly forgotten or disliked, I loved it and still rewatch it.

Did batman beyond predate this comic ? Whichever was first definitely took some ideas away from the other . They wanted to modernize the character from the original template and make him edgy in blade runner world .( batman , spiderman )

Imagine a superior version of the Ultimate symbiote, would fit the theme since the Ultimate Venom is just a lab experiment originally made as a cure to cancer. Maybe Alchemax could have gotten their hands on the original blueprints, redesigned it into an intentional bioweapon instead of an accidental one; Miguel is just doing his thing and winds up breaking a container or vial and boom, bonded, he's convinced to keep it for a time purely because of him immediately noticing the benefits in the middle of his fight. Ofc, idk a lot about the 2099 lore, they prolly already have a Venom and it's prolly an alien (I don't dislike it, just think a man-made horror fits the scifi cyber-dystopia theme more)

It varies from spider to spider. Some have really poor vision, others have great vision. They use tarsal claws to cling to things so that's accurate. Some spiders can lift up to 50x their body weight. The more questionab powers would be his resilience and regeneration, and his venom differing from a real spider's as spider venom is used to liquify it's prey's insides to eat while Miguel's venom is a non lethal paralytic. I guess they wanted him to have venom like a spider but didn't want him killing every person he bites.

It depends on writer. The mechanical webshooters were invented as a plot device, if they run out in the middle of a fight it creates drama and tension, +allows for more creativity with how Pete makes them. As a writing tool, they're better than the bio webshooters, so most variations use mechanical webshooters. However yes, certain comic runs and televised media do use the biological webshooters instead. The uniqueness to Miguel is that it's inherent to his character to have biological webshooters. He's more "spider" than "man" compared to other Spider Men, so him having natural webbing is intrinsic to the character and can't be taken away. However, the writers learned to create drama using the lack of creativity behind the natural webs since not manually making them means no customization or enhancements, leading to the webs being useless on some enemies and having the same effect as the mechanical webs failing or running out of webfluid midfight.
