​@@Misteri0123 Yeah I strongly think that's the case here. Pete was a second away from fully die and the symbiote saved him from it. Kinda like in Godzilla vs Kong where a "defibrillator" of sorts was used to get him back right before he perished. Just wish more people would understand that instead of straight up screaming "nerfed" or "weak"

I like the detail that when Peter wants to return Venom to Harry but the symbiote doesn't leave because it found a better host to attach itself to.

Everyone in this scene freaking nailed it. MJ, Peter and Harry all sound so genuine in their deliveries.

5:19 I really admire the composer of this game for coming up with such a perfect melody as the symbiote takes over Peter for the first time. It has such a mysterious, sinister yet seductive sound to it. Almost like a Siren that’s luring it’s prey in by appearing beautiful but is actually hiding great horrors behind it. Hands down my favourite scene in the game! Massive congratulations to Insomniac and everyone involved in the making of this!

I love the “Oh this feels GOOD” line so much. The symbiote has always been a metaphor for addiction and they nail what “The Dragon” is. The first time using a substance or doing a behavior that can be addictive. He never gets close to that euphoria again.

Dudes tho: 4:16 MJ's "Harry!" was so good performance wise. You hear the fear from her; it's just...heart piercing. Laura Bailey did so well.

imo they made him pretty weak and slacky in this game to make moments like the Symbiote SpiderMan and Miles shine. I mean notice how in their duo fights, Miles is always more calculated and stronger and more durable than peter, whereas peter gets hurt quite often and he does not seem to evade blows as good as miles. That is until he gets the symbiote

This scene killed me inside. The music the acting the writing and the performances of everyone involved deserves an Oscar nominee. The whole time I was screaming at the top of my lungs begging peter to get up and bounce back like he always does. My thoughts kept racing with No spiderman doesn't lose spiderman never dies. But the louder the soundtrack was getting the more angry Harry was getting and the more worried MJ was getting I couldn't help but just cry after MJ called for Harry right then and there I knew it was over.

It was Peter's "last words" that got me

I see a lot of people saying he was nerfed but fail to remember, him sensing it doesn’t always means he can avoid it. The sense just alerts him to a nearby danger to him, it’s a heightened instinct sense like when you feel a chill in the air, but he still has to locate and react to whatever danger. Kraven literary grabbed and stabbed him at the same time. And mind you this is their first fight. Peter knows nothing bout kraven Edit: 😅 I came back to all this lol. My opinion has changed a bit honestly after doing some reviews of the game and previous comic and show stuff. Do I think he’s a nerfed as people are making, not entirely but do I believe he’s a bit nerfed now? Yes for the context of the story and what needs to happen for the story to flow easily…so yes 🤣.

I disagree. An experienced Spider-Man? Not even being able to put up a good fight to Kraven? They could've write better ways to have Peter lose this fight, but for him to be killed this easily? No. He went up against mobs, a Kingpin, Lizard, Sandman, the Sinister Six, and other villains in the past 8 years when Spider-Man PS4 was introduced, and you're telling me now that he can easily get stabbed just like that? Nope, he was nerfed here for plot purposes (to have him get the black suit).

@@castlemein5765 I mean you’re entitled to that. I say it purely because experienced or not, he had fought all those other villians many times before. He knows their ins and outs, you see that with lizard and sandman especially but up to that point, he has no clue who or what kraven is. He could have been just a wild tribal leader who could be defeated with punches for all Peter knew but him being as powerful as he was, with his instincts and that surprised stab all while trying to protect and get to mj. It was a great time for a surprise attack to work on him. Especially since all of kraven lackeys were weak fodder at this point and only had tech advantage. I would expect their leader to be the same but slightly stronger with better tech, not superhuman with quick reflexes like kraven is.

@@PrapalyFree dude at some point those villains he fought were also new to him, he also knew nothing about them when he first encountered them, and not to mention he had to fight them at a young age. I'm not saying Kraven should not be able to beat him, I'm saying he should not have lost this fight that easily. Say all you want about his spider-sense he actually has Harry backing him up here so he doesn't really seem distracted or overloaded here. All I'm saying is they could've wrote this scene better, all this scene does is make Kraven appear dangerous and powerful in a very cheap way, like he doesn't really earn it. They nerfed Spider-Man so his Symbiote powers would come in and shine, which is honestly not the way to go. Don't get me wrong, as far as the story goes, it's still great, Insomniac created yet another great Spider-Man game, but this is the only gripe I have with this game, they made Peter so weak in this, and not in the right way.

I love how it foreshadows Harry/Venom killing Kraven because he was literally beating the shit out of him with ease 😂

You have to understand Peter was feeling all sorts of emotions in that moment. Rage, sadness, despair, hopelessness and wrath. All things the symbiote was highly attracted towards and desired the most. It's how it left Harry and attached to Peter. It's also why Peter was especially so aggressive and ferocious in this fight scene.

When Peter said, “Oh this FEELS GOOD!” in a menacing way, I felt GOOD too! 😃😃

Anyone else think that the concept of someone making you a literal monster just to hunt you down for pleasure is absolutely terrifying.

"Kravens going to wish that he never came to New York!" Was some of the most spine-chilling and amazing sh*t I have ever heard.

It’s epic how this was almost just like the comics. In the comics, Kraven also successfully killed Spider-Man (with a poisonous blade). It’s from Kraven’s Last Hunt, often considered to be one of the greatest Spider-Man storylines. And it was badass when Peter got the symbiote (the music is great, too) and started destroying everyone! But after I finished the game my opinion has kinda changed for the worse. Half of me praises the game but half of me says it’s so obvious they nerfed Peter and made Miles stronger. It’s even more obvious that come the final act (Venom’s very first appearance to the end), they tried so freaking hard to make Miles more likable, and seem to be intending to use him to replace the significantly more interesting and complex Peter. Peter literally said to Miles “Why would the city need me when it had you?”, trying to tell the audience that Miles is better than Peter in almost every way. As a humongous Spider-Man fan, I want to like this game as much as everyone else does SO BADLY… but they disrespected Peter and it honestly ruined the game for me. Well, at least Super Mario Wonder is fantastic (no I swear it’s genuinely phenomenal lol)

I was a bit freaked out but I got on with it.

Ive only gotten to this point when acquiring the symbiote suit but wow. I knew peter would be fine but damn did this scene bring out a couple tears. I was speechless. I felt fear when spiderman tried to fight kraven.... i felt a big shock when peter was stabbed and thrown. I felt annxiety when we try to limp back to the top with the help of MJ. lastly i felt sad when our hero was about to meet its demise even though we all knew he would continue on in the story. Damn, isonmiac did an amazing job with this game. I cant wait to get out of work and continue playing.

I remember when Yuri said when acting for symbiote Spidey he thought about drug addiction or something like that. The scene was like a acid trip or more so Peter just being high off the symbiote influence. Hence you could hear venoms faint voice sometimes during the first fight with the suit

Man everything about this scene was awesome to see, from Harry literally beating the hell out of kraven and screaming at him to Peter getting the symbiote and you can just feel the complete and utter damage it causes to the enemies when you hit them, this was a really great mission

The moment Harry became one of the best characters. He really fuckin loves Pete. Named him cofounder of EMF, named EMF after May, even in his full corrupted venom mode couldn’t complete his goal without having Pete join him, and above all how crazy he went after seeing Kraven hurt Pete

I'll admit I expected Kraven to be kind boring. He was definitely *Not* , seeing him kill Scorpion after getting stabbed by the venom. He uses one hand to snap his neck, Kraven was so badass

Honestly I think this would of been the perfect death scene for Pete cause after aunt may death and besides Miles mj and harry are pretty much the only family he got left so the last people he want to be with would be them that’s why I love this scene

2:23 lizard still has classic accurate look before he was huge, jurassic, and naked.

I love how enemies just wait still for their turn to be beaten 😂.

I like the aggression that Harry had against Kraven after seeing what happened and for what happened to Peter, if you recall in Spider-Man 3 the movie Harry did a similar thing however the difference is Kraven's strength is greater and his experience as a hunter gives him an extra advantage of quick reflexes which is how he was quick to be able to hit Peter with the knife at the same time he blocked his punch because he knew a quick blindsided strike can make a big difference on either him or his prey would be the one to die. Sometimes depending on the type of experience makes a difference. Peter has never faced an enemy who was as fast or even has quicker reflexes than him and even has the physical strength practically equal to that of an actual animal(lion) without an enhancement(which I'm guessing for Kraven)

This Harry Osborn is "REAL friend" what we all need.

Man this is one of the most powerful versions of Kraven, killed Vulture, Electo, Scorpiom almost killed Spider-Man man. He's badass

not almost, he did have a clinical death (his heart fully stopped, and stopped breathing but his brain didn’t stopped working just yet. At 4:40 you can see Peter stops breathing and he lets go MJ’s arm, those are signs his heart stopped functioning, he was indeed dead)

​@@stevee1989 For the sake of the game he was fully dead and revived. Really, he was on the verge of perishing but didn't die truly, like you said. Had the symbiote not merged with him in that moment it would have been over for Peter.

I love how people keep getting mad at Peter getting defeated so easily and tracing back all the things he's done to come to some conclusion that he shouldn't have lost so easily. Not saying Pete's weak but the only conclusion I can come to is he's not on top of his game as he usually is. Yeah, he may have superpowers but you've gotta remember that bro is still a human. Peter can get tired, he's been in the field much longer than Miles and alongside teaching him and balancing his own life with deadly crime fighting as his own Spider-Man all in the span of about 9 -11 years leading to this entry (chronologically). Topple that with the knowledge that Peter knows practically nothing of the capabilities of Kraven and you've got an opponent that can't just be beaten by the means of stealth and punching. In defense of Miles coming off as more of a mary sue, (gary stu, whatever you wanna call it) I'd say he's got more energy due to the opposing factor that he's like 1-2 years into his Spider-Man career and he's learned a lot from Peter, has been very observant of his action. Miles abilities already outsource Pete's and this is also a kid who's got heroism drilled into his skull by his old man. Not to mention him being labeled this way isn't even right because he's had his share of loss as well, couldn't save his dad, put Harlem in danger with Rhino, wasn't able to save Harlem without the sacrifice of Phin which was out of his control, etc. I don't believe either P or M had a bad look in their shining moments. Not a perfect display of everything but also not that unrealistic when you put everything into perspective. I mean Rhino damn near killed Peter too, he's been due for a real break for a long time. No, I'm not talking leaving the country for like a few weeks or whatever I mean like full on vacation like the ending gave us.

Sorry but it makes no sense. Spider- Man is incredibly strong - even when he’s not in a good state mentally he’s not as bad as he is in this game. As for Miles, he’s no where near as strong as Peter is

This scene hit me. This hit me hard. I knew he wasn’t gonna die. I knew he was going to be OK but everything just made me so emotional I know people are saying that he was weekend and I get it. It is kind of weird how he was easily taken out by a knife but I don’t care about that stuff. That is probably my biggest problem with this scene but everything else just hit me really hard especially the music hearing a sad violin version of his theme specially because this is my favorite version of Peter seeing him basically die it hit me very hard and seen everybody’s reaction. MJ screaming to Harry to get over here Harry scream when he realize that Peter is gone and I know I already brought this up. The music is so heartbreaking it all combined to a beautiful scene and a great introduction to the black suit. But I am not a fan of that whole Craven part. I think they could’ve improved on that. Maybe have you fight a boss fight with Craven and force you to lose like no matter what you do you die kind of like the opening of MegaMan X and paper Mario. But everything besides that part was great and I will never forget about the scene but it makes me sad that a lot of people are hating on it just because he died in a dumb way and even though I get the backlash, I still just think that it doesn’t matter how he died it matters how he died I know that makes no sense but what I mean to say is it doesn’t matter how Kraven killed him it matters of how everybody reacts to his death and how they do the death I know that sounds really weird and like I said, I am not a fan of how they killed Pete off the way he got stabbed and I think if they fix that everything would be great but everything around that I love it’s like a beautiful piece of pizza but has like one slice that isn’t too great but everything else is absolutely delicious. I love this scene so much and I just feel like people have to stop caring about how he died and stop caring about how he died, I know that doesn’t make any sense but I hope you understand what I mean

Thank god I avoided youtube for the past couple days so I can experience this myself while playing. Anyways, during this scene my jaw fucking dropped to the floor when this happened. So many emotions and seeing harry beat the shit out of kraven was awesome. Also, when MJ was carrying peter, it reminded me of in the last of us when joel was hurt and elle was carrying him out of the university. Bravo to insomniac, such an incredible game.

I swear that sometimes the video game animation and plots and acting are better than some of the movies. I would so watch an entire movie of this

Imagine if there was an alternative story of what would happen if Peter Died (or at least be put in a coma or life support) and how Harry became hellbent on capturing Kraven and how Miles had to become the only Spider Man

Changing the suit kinda gave it away but the missing was still amazing

Even when I knew what would happen afterwards, I still cried.

Man… I love the monstrous noises that come out of the controller when you use the Symbiote Surge.

8:26 shows Peter's absolute BEST form. Despite being slowly under the control of a Symbiote and literally saying that it felt so good during Surge, he rejects its choice of host and still tries to give it back to Harry without a single flash of Peter wanting it for himself.

I’m gonna be honest I was so happy that they involved agent venom into the game, not to mention that I loved how they designed him, let’s all be honest I’m gonna miss that guy In the game universe

This was one of my favorite parts of the game. The og high school trio saving the day ❤

im pretty sure everyones hearts stopped the moment the gameplay switched to MJ, telling you to carry peter. bad shits about to go down, its like soap dying in the mw3 mission blood brothers cant imagine how MJ would be feeling and thinking the moment pete says "am i breathing" also im sure this would usually be a stab wound that spiderman can heal from but its poisoned and only kraven knows the cure the scene with harry pete and mj, just like spiderman 3, but the roles are reversed

Looks like they nerfed him the whole game based on the cutscenes. Always gettin saved by miles and relying on the symbiote suit for the most part. Hope we see justice for Peter in spiderman 3

@@charlieribbit8253 Emotional turmoil affects his performance and is kinda of the theme of the game. MIles is younger and it is easier for him to bounce back. Plus Last game had him going through trail and error learning curve, so is pete

I love how ominous the music is as the symbiote latches onto Peter. Everybody in the audience knows this will be very bad news down the line.

Ever since I played this scene I’ve been going through KZread to see how others did theirs. I wanted to see if they channeled their inner beast in savoring it 😂

Funny, he betrayed Pete without a second thought earlier.

Great scene and I actually geared up (even though I already watched my friend play it) but I wish Peter dying wasn’t a simple cutscene. It feels pretty cheap that Kraven can just stab Peter when he’s already faced Taskmaster who was preparing for him. It either should’ve been like the Sinister Six where there’s way too much and Kraven overwhelms him, or a boss fight like the beginning of Ghost of Tsushima where you can’t win.

Honeslty they make this verson of spiderman really realistic. A little too realistic for me becusse spuderman is a lot for powerfula nd durable than that. If the spiderman form the comics stopped his hand it wouldnt have gone in him he would stopped it and thrown cracen off of him real easy. I feel this verson of spiderman is a lot weaker than he is in the comics

They purposely made this spiderman slacky and weak because they needed to show Miles and the Symbiote Spiderman moments to be strong. Peter getting his axx saved by miles makes him look like a good spiderman, but at the cost of Peter looking weak

Venom is just a bad ass thats it. Period.

I liked this version of Peter coming to obtain the symbiote. Peter didn’t steal it or cross his morals. Instead it was a do or die situation. In the end it was no one’s fault that Venom came to be.

But it's technically Kraven's fault that Venom became the main antagonist after he killed them and Norman's too for causing the symbiote apocalypse in the second game.

"OH this feels GOOD !!" "Guess your boss needs better aim" And "Then I feel sorry for him" .... followed by the part where Kraven asks "What ARE you" We all knew those were cues for "something just isn't right anymore man" holy sh*t I'm scared 😅

i was shocked when Peter was stabbed really thought he was gonna die for some reason, but Harry's aggression to Kraven lol

This is the first game I enjoyed play and crying in the same time😢

"I'm sorry I was always so busy" man the writers UNDERSTOOD the assignment when they were telling this story. One of the best sequences of the whole game
