This is such a well done version of Venom! It’s just too bad the story felt somewhat short and Venom only has the one boss fight. The teasers and concept made it appear like there’d be a fight across the city where we chase him too. This game is astounding in many ways, I just wish it had more story missions and felt longer.

It just occurred to me peter must be holding back his Anti-Venom here .... he coudlve easily killed the symbiote on harry like he did civilians .... but instead its taking longer because deep down Peter knows that by "healing" harry he'll kill him .... this was so beautifully done dude .... i didnt wanna hurt Harry but he gave me no choice xc !!!!

@@thefalloutkid13 I agree wholeheartedly. People call him “generic”, when he’s just realistic. Not everyone is plagued by some form of disease and had an alien come to save us. Some people just hit their lowest lows due to a series of unfortunate circumstances, even driven to the point of suicide, and that was Eddie. Then there’s the classic story of Peter wrestling venom off, and the symbiote finding its way onto Eddie, in the unmistakable Our Lady of Saints Church, where an unbreakable bond is INSTANTLY formed. Classic. Harry’s great and all, but he couldn’t even control venom. Not to mention, the Our Lady of Saints Church is quite an important place in spiderman stories, and it was first made significant because of Eddie praying before he planned to kill himself.

@@dangerousdoings8066 The symbiote does have a consciousness, it’s just dependant on its host most of the time. It’s the same as in the game, but for some reason Venom wanted to take over the world which just seems.. generic, ironically.

It only occured to me now that, since Peter is leaving being Spider-Man and letting Miles take the mantle (because Insomniac couldn't help but following the thread of replacing Peter with Miles, at least Peter's not dead this time, I really thought they would do their own spin) then any potential DLC would basically be just Miles Morales DLC... Edit: Yeah I guess it's very likely it won't be forever with hindsight (and hopefully it stays like that) but it would still be weird that DLCs would have Peter unless the DLCs were some time after the main game. I just want Insomniac to kepp doing what they've been doing with Miles since the beginning: Do something different than everybody else and _add_ instead of _replace_ in their universe. Miles has replaced Peter a thousand times already and everyone knows the story by now, I really wish for Insomniac to give us a _new_ story with those characters that doesn't follow the popular trend, so far they haven't disappointed in any game of this saga.

Dlc was set up in game as Carnage with Peter and Wraith. A new game was also set up with implication that Peter would be called out of retirement

Kinda cool that they used a goblin thing for harry in that beginning being that some iterations of him become the green goblin

Cindy Moon aka SILK coming to Spiderman 3 YESSSSS. If you don't know Cindy Moon was bitten by the same spider as peter parker and has organic webs and similar abilities to Peter. However idk if they keep the same story as they did for this universe

The football field is a tribute to the first mission in ultimate spiderman

Insomniac listened to the critics of the first game when we said that the Boss Fight against Doc Ock was really underwhelming even against the rest of the Sinister Six. They made Boss Fights now with 2-3 Health bars when you take each one out the fight becomes harder and there is even a nice cutscene. Thats how you do it! On Spectacular in my first go I had really problems against Venom.

Love the ending cause now the third game is gonna be where green goblin comes in

The anti-venom suit isn't a symbiote like venom, or any of the ones in the hivemind. So it wouldn't be affected by that accelerator. It's also a combination of Li's power, which acts as a neutralizer to regular symbiotes.

Who else saw the Dragon wing's and the Spiral Symbiotes and went "Oh we are SO fucked." Because, holy cow they went hard with this. I wanna say this: for me? Is a WAY worse situation than web of shadow's. Especially with how OP this Venom was

Anti venom from SM: Edge of Time vs Venom from Webs of shadows.

Apart from the usual accolades hurtled upon this game, it's also a brilliant cases study in marketing/design for the PlayStation 5. The Anti-Venom color scheme matches the default color scheme for the PS5 hardware and the Symbiote being this overpowering entity helps sell the PS5 as this "futuristic and alien-like" console.

I love how Miles realises that Venom had been who has been talking the whole time not just as Harry but as Peter as well

Ahhhh Venom's Death Bite from the stage guess Insomniac are also MVC fans...

I haven't played this one, and I love everything that insomniac has done with their Spider-Man universe (including what I've seen so far of SM2), but I was under the impression that the symbiote always looked for either the strongest host, or it's best match (like with Sony's venom). So why would it choose Harry, who has a terminal illness, and had bonded to him already, instead of kraven or something?

The symbiote tended to choose a host with similar negative emotional backgrounds. As explained in the Venom movies, Venom bonded best with Eddie as they were both losers, and for Carnage, by being born in a strange planet, is a mutant symbiote so Cletus is like a great host to home as Cletus is a psychopathic antisocial killer. In this case, after a long time of being bonded to a weak Harry, the symbiote was attracted to Spiderman as a strong host. But when Spiderman rejected him in the same way he rejected Harry, both Venom and Harry shared the same negative emotion, making them perfect together. In short, it is all down to emotional background.

I believe the symbiote in this iteration is attracted to hosts who are weaker, as it can more easily take control of the host. It chooses Harry when he's sick, Peter when he's about to die, and then Harry again after Peter takes it off and heals.

For example, why do Venom and Harry throw Peter through a wall at Oscorp, when they want to infect him above everything else? How did Kraven know Venom even existed before he went outside, while he was attacking Oscorp? How is one of Kraven's aircraft tracking the floor Venom is on when firing into Oscorp?

​​@@zackhurwitz9441venom during his gameplay section is basically a child lashing out and probably still feel the emotion of betrayed by Peter hence why they throw him out. Once they call down both Harry and the symbiote manage to find a new goal to heal the world by infecting everyone especially Peter. kraven didn't specifically want to find venom, he probably just attacking oscorp to gain attention of Spiderman, instead he got Venom and he know Venom is different than Spiderman hence he says at last.

Shocks don't give hearts a start; they give them a stop. It's up to them to start back up again. An AED won't even fire if it can't detect a heartbeat.

MJ Third person shooting reminded me this was the same devs as the Resistance games. Come to think of it, this sequence is basically them harnessing old knowledge

Doesn't venom have the ability to neutralize spider-mans spider sense? Its what makes him such a dangerous enemy to spidey. All the parries and dodges should be up to the player using visual and audio cues not a halo around spideys head

If Peter just said, "The Symbiote went crazy, subdued Harry's mind, and tried to take over the world, so we had to stop it," instead of mewling "I'm sorry," maybe he wouldn't have created his next supervillain.

A few comments regarding the game as a whole. The Venom fight is done extremely well and it shows just how ludicrously huge of a threat venom was. I mean he took on Miles with a power upgrade, Peter with Anti-venom, and even some shots from the sonic gun MJ was packing. That being said, while I understand the ending they were going for I see a few majorly glaring issues. First of all it looks like the Venom Symbiot was entirely destroyed which would have be a terrible mistake as it would make it so Venom couldn't come back as an anti-hero despite being one of the most popular anti-heroes in comics. It also would require them to come up with some weird excuse if they were to introduce Carnage which they absolutely should since hes a great villain. Next the whole Peter retiring implication. I see they left themselves room with the "for a while" part of Mile's statement but the idea of having him sit out in general is a bad one. I know there are some die-hard Miles fans out there but people need to face the facts, he isn't and never will be as popular as Peter. So having Peter sit out even if only temporary isn't a smart move. They would actually be smart to do the opposite keep Peter in and maybe cycle Miles out for other members of the Spider family like Silk or Spider Woman. Also hate to say it but I think they might have messed up the order here. Green Goblin, while still a hype villain is no where near as hype as Venom so the follow-up is going to be a bit of a downgrade unfortunately. In terms of actual game design most of the game was good but I have to say I'm not sure what they were thinking with some of Mile's missions. I get they are really pushing the whole "Friendly neighborhood Spiderman angle for him but some of his missions were beyond dull. I mean having him help some guy ask his crush out? Definitely not riveting gameplay or story telling for a superhero game. Lastly and this is just a weird one. Why does literally everyone know sign language in this game? I get that Miles girlfriend is deaf and as such some people need to know it, but the sheer number of people who know it off hand seems abnormally high.

Anti-Venom Peter and Negative Miles and they just BARELY beat this version of Venom. That is one hell of a step up from the standard symbiote we know.

I almost expected knull to be a part of the storyline

Wonder why they didn’t give the anti venom symbiote or use it at least to heal Harry as shouldn’t it have the ability to heal all illnesses like in the comics?
